What were they?

Best for the C's:
2004 they had 3 first rounders and selected Al Jefferson, Delonte West, Tony Allen

West was a part of the Ray Allen trade, and Jefferson was the main part of the Garnett deal

Worst for the C's:
2000, they selected Jerome Moiso and Josip Sesat

What about your team?

The Magic sucked at drafting for the most part...

Worst:

2000: We had 3 top 15 picks, not one player played more than 3 full years with us
2001: Steven Hunter and Jeryl Sasser 15 and 22 overall over a lot of solid players
2002: Curtis Borchardt 18th overall
2005: Fran Vazquez 11th overall
2006: JJ Redick 11th overall (although he's been great this year)

Best:

Why's that.

I was so high on Quincy Douby. I loved it when we drafted him, I bought a ****ing jersey, I went to his best game against the warriors and he outperformed baron davis and the Warriors @ home.

Unforunately, after that game, He decided to never play productive basketball, I decided to never wear my Douby jersey anymore, he fell of a cliff, and now I think he plays in a D-league, where he belongs, unfotunately.

Douby failed miserably, Petrie failed miserably by not drafting Rondo, and I failed miserably having so much confidence in his future as a King!

Best Drafts:
2003 Obviously LBJ but Kapono was pretty good too until Charlotte took him in the expansion draft.
2002 Carlos Boozer in the 2nd round until he screwed us and signed with the Jazz.
But the best draft in our history was 1986
Brad Daugherty Ron Harper and Mark Price

Worst Drafts
2001 DeSagana Diop over Joe Johnson and Guilbert Arenas and Tony Parker and Jeff Trepagnier over Okur
2004 Luke Jackson
2005 Unable to trade into the draft to get LBJ's close friend Chris Paul as LBJ asked

Considering that Douby is Petrie's one bad pick this decade, I'll take it. Look at the other guys he got:

2000: Hedo Turkoglu
2001: Gerald Wallace
2004: Kevin Martin
2005: Francisco Garcia
2007: Spencer Hawes
2008: Jason Thompson, Donte Greene (traded for him)
2009: Tyreke Evans, Omri Casspi

I'll take that, especially considering a lot of those guys were mid to late 1st round picks.

hmm maybe best overall by any team this decade was the 06 draft by blazers.

trading Tyrus thomas for LAMARCUS ALDRIDGE (2nd overall)
trading randy foye for BRANDON ROY (7th overall)

SERGIO RODRIGUEZ (27th overall)
JOEL FREELAND (30th overall, granted he is still in Europe)

but the worst draft was 2004 drafting Sebastian Telfair at 13. Think he spent too much time with his movie rather then learning to playing in the pro's

06 was the best draft for the Trail Blazers, hands down.
- Landing B-Roy
- Landing LaMarcus Aldridge
- Drafting Joel Freeland (his grade is INC, though, never played an NBA game)
- James White (Never came of anything)

Roy and LA will be in Portland for quite some time.

Worst?
There are a few. Erick Barkley (St Johns) in 2000. Yeah, I have no idea who he is either.
2002: Qyntel Woods (Jailblazer), Jason Jennings (Arkansas St), Federico Kammerichs (?) from Spain.
2004: Sebastian Telfair, Sergei Monia (Russia), Ricky Sanchez (IMG Academy)
- Note: I still remember in the weeks heading into the draft, Blazers management saying they WOULD NOT draft Telfair. Time came, they did, I was pi**ed. Could have had Al Jefferson. Nope. Could have had Josh Smith! Neeep. Hell, could have even had Anderson Varejao! But nope, they decide to take young, untested, overhyped trash of a pointguard. Bunch of liars, that's what Portland had before KP.

I could even make an arguement that the 2007 draft was the worst.. Taking Oden over Durant (who is averaging over 28 points per game). Oden is INC, but I'm not liking where his knees are going..... Josh McRoberts, Derrick Byars, Taurean Green, Demitris Nichols were all drafted, none of which are with the team anymore.

Jazz

Best:
2003 we drafted Sasha and MoWill...neither of them stuck around for long though >.<
2005 we got D-Will! :). And CJ Miles
2006 we got Brewer, Millsap, and Dee Brown (very solid backup PG)
2009 we picked up a great young PG in Eric Maynor, and got a hot new stud in Wesley Matthews without even drafting him!! :)

Worst:
2004 so many great players in that draft and we ended up taking Kris Humphries and Kirk Snyder with 14th and 16th picks. We could've had Josh Smith, Jameer Nelson, Kevin Martin, Tony Allen, Anderson Varejao or tons of other awesome players! :'(
^this is so bad don't even need to mention any other bad drafts, only other ones were busts (mostly european) with 20th pick.

*have to give "worst" an asterisk because they did trade for Nene, who the Knicks took 7th, so it was not all bad. But the cataclysmically disastrous use of the 5th pick on Skita still puts it over the top and wins it the "worst draft" title - in the decade, and possibly even in franchise history.
