I thought he would be fired the night after they lost against the Kings, after the 35 point turn around.

Still surprised he's not fired yet.

The Bulls seriously need to get rid of Del Negro. Their playoff hopes are starting to slip away.

The coach rarley increases the teams performance in games, he's there for chemistry and managing ego's. The bulls suck cause they have no inside scoring and no passing outside of kirk and rose

I never like seeing articles like this. Even if the bulls are looking to fire him, coming out and having it said before it happens does nothing to help the team. It makes things harder on the players if the head of the team is a lame duck. Why learn the system, plan out strategy for each game if the system is going to change, win or lose, in a week or two. If you're gonna fire a coach and implement a change, then do it. Don't let it hang in the air like a rancid smelling fart that no one has the courage to claim responsibility for.

I still don't think that this team will improve with a new coach, and if they do, I don't think it will be because of coaching. Besides Noah and Deng, everyone else is not playing up to par. Salmons and Hinrich inability to hit a shot are crippling the offense. Rose has not made significant improvements from last year. Ty has missed a lot of time. They don't have a ton of depth. Defense is not the problem, it's offense. And when it comes down to it, I think the blame rests on the players' shoulders more so than the coach.

It's easy to blame the coach, and to change the coach. Hopefully it fires the team up, but I don't see someone coming in and instantly turning this team around.

No.

Bulls went to the playoffs DESPITE Vinny messing it up many times. The only good thing he did was to play 7-men rotation and that 7-men happened to be our 7 best players - other than that everything was just meh about Vinny.

Can't believe people say he's the only reason the Bulls suck.

Nobody's saying he is the "ONLY" reason for Bulls failure but he is a BIG part of it - along with our front office for letting Gordon go for nothing.

I think pretty much everyone left that on the players who did that. But for most other teams, this is sad and true. Back before the Boston turnaround everyone was calling for Doc Rivers' head and now most of them are more like he is the greatest coach who ever lived. While coaches certainly deserve some blame they certainly don't deserve all of it most of the time. I mean, Scott certainly shouldn't have been fired for what happened in NO, and I don't believe Lawrence Frank FULLY deserved the blame for the NJ debacle (more lots of injuries I would say).

Can't believe people say he's the only reason the Bulls suck.

He's certainly not the ONLY reason. Our players still need to produce and work harder, but I still believe our coaching does need to change. The main problems with Vinny is the fact he runs a pretty confusing offensive system.

I believe Del Harris controlled the offense last year and this year he left for the Nets. Last year our offensive playing seemed much more varied (whether that was also because BG spread the floor could also be a reason). This year our offense seems to be more just blandly running the same play over and over again. Basically like this: Rose runs up the court, gives it to Noah, who holds it for awhile, then gives it back to Rose, Deng, or Salmons, at which point the shot clock is running down so they will either shoot it or pass again for a catch and shoot.

The other problem is that, as Sir Charles pointed out, all the players with the exception of Noah and Rose to an extent have COMPLETELY lost faith in Del Negro. If you watch us during the timeouts you can see our players usually looking at the half-time show or whatever or looking up at what's on the scoreboard whenever he's talking or trying to draw up a play (which is usually some kind of pick and roll from what I've seen).

Basically, it certainly isn't ALL VDN's fault we're in the position we're in right now, but something needs to be done if we want to have any hope of improving and making a better case for 2010.

The question is, will our FO make a smart pick this time?

DelNegro seems like a nice enough guy, but whatever he was doing just wasn't working with this roster. Perhaps Scottie Pippen can finally get the chance he wants to coach.

Byron Scott, Avery Johnson, or Jeff Van GUndy would be just the best choices for Chicago, but Im not sure those guys still wanna coach or not.
