chris kaman should start at center since stoudemire is the power foward frye plays center same with gasol he plays power foward and who else is in the west jefferson is starting to do good now and bynum? he goes 20 and 11 then vanishes for 5 games. even camby is doing good.

Its worse now because Tmac was willing to sit out, will AI be as humble?

AI definitely doesnt deserve to be there, but I wouldn't mind watching him throw some alley-oops and whatnot, the last few all star games have been somewhat of a bore when it comes to highlights and Iverson would sure bring that.

I know everyone will jump on me but rondo should be an all star..not just saying that because I am a celtics fan but he is the ebst PG in the east...and talk about putting on a show he would be great in sna ll star game.

So we are looking at:

East
PG: Allen Iverson
SG: Dwayne Wade
SF: Lebron James
PF: Kevin Garnett
C: Dwight Howard

West
PG: Steve Nash
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Carmelo Anthony
PF: Dirk Nowitzki
C: Amare Stoudemire

I think they got it right with the exception of Iverson...

lol. He isn't going to be shooting jumpshots in the all star game anyways. Just some fancy dribbling, passes, alley oops, etc in limited minutes is fine with me.

Sometimes the All Star game is more of a career achievment award. It's good for the greats of the league to get their respect in the twilight of their careers. It would be great to see AI represent the Sixers again in an All Star game.....just one last time.

Cal Ripken hit .239 his last year, but he still was voted into the All Star game.

People want to see greats of the game on a big stage, even if they are past their prime.

I don't follow baseball so I can't really relate.

Normally I wouldn't have a problem, but he hasn't even played in that many games. There are just too many other deserving candidates, IMO.

My All-star teams

East

C- Howard, Shaq
PF- Garnett, Bosh
SF- Lebron, Granger(If he can get healthy first)
SG- wade, Johnson
PG- Rondo, Mo Williams

West

C- Amare, Bynum
PF- Dirk, Duncan
SF- Carmelo, Durant
SG- Kobe, Williams
PG- Nash, Paul

I know Williams is a PG, But he would have a hard time getting mins from Nash and Paul.

You're absolutely right, he's not an all star this year. But, the fact that he is 2nd in voting is a tribute to his career....that's all I'm saying. I don't think he will play if he gets voted in.

ALLEN IVERSON!? hahaha what a complete joke.
What the **** has he done the past years. He was a complete cancer in Detroit. Pulled the biggest ******** in memphis.

and now isnt doing jack **** for Philly and is STARTING in the all star game?

It'd be fine if AI could still put on a show but he's boring as hell now. I dont even hate AI, I'm actually a fan of AI, but him starting at the all star game is a joke.
Why the hell do people want to see AI throwing up ****** contested jump shots all game? He's nothing special at this point in his career he should have stayed retired.

Wade, Carter, Johnson should be the only east SGs considered. And I'm not even mentioning all the point guards that dont get love.

wow, i cant believe the fact that AI is going to prolly be a starter again this year! Remember that only the STARTERS are voted by fans, not the rest of the team. So Joe Johnson will still be on the all-star team, as should Josh Smith as well. THis is wut i think will end up being the teams...

EAST G: Dwayne Wade, ALlen Iverson, Joe Johnson, (toss up between, Rondo, Mo, Ray, Vince, Rose)
EAST F: Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Paul Pierce

AI has the saddest fans. Ive always loved the guy. BUt I'm not gonna vote him into the all star game just because I'm a fan.
1. he doesnt deserve it.
2. he doesnt even deserve to be a all star reserve
3. he's played like 10 games this year
4. he's not doing jack right now.
5. he's preventing people like Johnson, Carter, Rose from making the all star game.
6. he's not fun to watch at all anymore. So what's the point of this. You either get them in the ASG because they're fun to watch, put on a good show, or are having an all star season. AI has none of that.

Camby should really be given a spot on the all star team, considering that he is finally healthy and puts up fantastic numbers in a completely unassuming way. The guy is just a silent boss who's always looking to help out his teammates day in and day out.

Fun fact on Camby this year: From a fantasy basketball persepctive, he's the 9th best player in a standard 9-cat format. Behind: Durant, Duncan, Melo, Pau Gasol, Kobe, Lebron, Dirk, and Chris Paul. Over the past month he's the best period!

HA true, but I'm willing to give him a pass on that being that he's 7 feet tall and always looks to pass first. And the fact that if he gets a line of "10 pts, 17 boards, 4blocks, 4assists" I don't look at it twice, it just seems normal.

who ever out there is voting for iverson, tmac, arenas, garnet is an idiot. simply put. if they had watched the nba this year they would know there are far better players now at each respective position.

like bosh>>>>garnet right now.
joe johnson>>>over raly allen right now.
devon harris>>> ai right now. and even last year.
brandon roy & deron williams>>>>>>>>>>>Tmac.

gilbert has been playing well but i dont think he deserves to be an allstar.

I see Chris Paul made a significant advance. I see him eventually taking Nash and winning the starting at PG!

Anyway, I knew Allen Iverson is far too popular and would win at second guard. I think he seriously is going to win cause he made one hell of a jump.

This might be his last allstar game so its a tribute. Im not mad at all that will get voted in.

THE MTL
12-24-2009, 10:05 PM
Also, I think its wrong for guys to get voted in and decline! THEY OWE IT TO THEIR FANS to play. Their fans are so loyal that you owe it to the ppl that got you there.

If they wanna be humble, I say give up the starting spot, but dont decline the allstar game

THE MTL
12-24-2009, 10:10 PM
Also guys like Brandon Roy and Joe Johnson dont play in big market cities....thats why their votes are lower than it should be.

Same with Chris Paul and Steve Nash. While they might still get voted in, its usually a come-from-behind win during the last voting returns.
