Dwight Howard, Greg Oden (if healthy and getting 32+ mpg) and Brook Lopez in a couple of years time.

Dwight Howard started the season around 1.4bpg and has made his way to 2.3bpg already, in comparison Josh Smith started the season at about 3.4bpg and has dropped down to 2.5bpg... so I think Superman will in about a week or two.

Yea I agree when it's all said and done it will be Dwight Howard, just like he was number 3 or 3 in RPG now is back on top.

Yeah, he started out around 10th, avging only 10.5rpg, and is now #1 at 12.7rpg, which for him is still underachieving lol.

He is really returning to form as the season is progressing.

If he was able to stay on the floor for 30+ minutes then Thabeet would certainly be able to because he's a very good shot blocker (probably the only thing he's really good at). But he's way to foul prone and will likely be for quite a few years so yeah...

Smith was in possible quadruple double territory last night before the starters were taken out because they were destroying Utah

J Smoove is a bad boy! For a while it seemed like he was going to run himself out of town but he really stepped his game up. I think he might be DPOY this year.

imo brook wont do it cuz despite the decent defense he's not very explosive. the two things he has going for him are timing and his size. he can still work on his explosiveness but at best he'll be an average nba player in terms of athleticism.

sorry sean williams will foul out before he gets to that third block. i wish he got his head into the game more. he's got all the physical attributes but sometimes he just gets too aggressive.

josh isnt playing enough minutes to sustain being the top blocker IMO. atl has been routing opponents and the starters are getting sa lot of rest

Well it's kind of hard when you lead the NBA in fouls per minute.

when did i say that? per minute stats are so overrated. but to answer your question, i had put no thought into any per minute basis when i replied. it was just an observation that turned out to be factual

when did i say that?
You didnt, it was implied when you used minutes as an excuse for whatshisface not being the guy ending up with blocks.

per minute stats are so overrated.
Umm not anymore so than whatever stat you like to look at, so it pertains to this discussion just the same.

but to answer your question, i had put no thought into any per minute basis when i replied. it was just an observation that turned out to be factual

What do you mean, what was factual? Im totally baked right now but if its that excuse you tried to trot then you would need to have quantifiable proof of your claims. Its really not hard to come up with when your making statistical claims, you either know what your talking about or you dont.

Obviously, Dwight Howard is the top candidate to do so, but guys like Haywood, Dampier and Dalembert have a shot as well.
