The Mavericks are very worried about Dirk Nowitzki's deep elbow cut, that may or may not still contain some of Carl Landry's broken teeth, and are uncertain of how much time he'll miss with the injury.
To make matters worse, it's to his shooting arm. Mark Cuban is optimistic about Dirk's quick return, and he is a warrior, but this injury is not normal by any stretch, and it sounds like Landry's teeth likely went down to the bone. He's questionable for Sunday, so stay tuned. Dec. 19 - 12:46 am et

I know it's from Twitter, but it was also reported on Rotoworld.

Cuban was said to be "optomistic", but others seem to be a bit more uncertain about it.

Freak accident it was crazy Carl Landry broke like 5 teeth and went to the hospital right after the play. I was worried about both players right after it happened but you could amputate Dirks right arm and he would still ball with his left, shooting those free throws lefty. I thought Dirk would come back in the game must be little more serious than I thought, they said Dirk got three stitches.

Eh, I think it will be fine. It looked like it was bothering him but not to an extent where he would miss any significant time due to it.

Landry is the man, whats funny is that Dirk freakin elbows him in the face, cuts his gum and break his teeth and he is still called for the foul. LMFAO

Freak accident. I mean it looked just like a wicked elbow to Landry's mouth. It was pretty bad, worse than a replay shows. I mean I never heard of broken teeth embedded in the flesh to the bone of someone.

The Lakers couldn't even beat the Rockets without Pau this season so what's your point?

Yeah, I remember back in the playoffs a few years back when Boozer knocked out one of Landry's teeth. Guess he just doesn't have good luck, maybe wear a mouthpiece?

Not really sure what that is supposed to mean...Houston is 3.5 games back and counting!

...I can't believe they protested...it should have never even went to over time...the refs tried to help Dallas win and they still lost.

Watch your butt Kidd...that was Bush-League and you know it...Plus the Aussie's got a longer reach.

Where was his flagrant foul, they called AB for one that was a normal hard foul...that ended up with him getting an elbow thrown at him by Erick Dampier!

...doesn't make sense.

Guess I'd be mad too if I was a bully and the little guy kicked my butt.

oh yeah...THAT WAS A CHARGE DIRK!!!

Actually they did beat the rockets this season without Pau, and on the road, and on a back-to-back.

Yeah, I couldn't imagine what would happen if he hadn't had one in there.

One thing I have to say is, Landry is a straight up beast. He got popped so hard and he didn't even grimace on his face. He barley flinched.

Just hope both players are good to go soon. I really hope Dirk plays in time to play against the Cavs. That game should be real fun to watch with Dirk in the lineup as well.
