MILWAUKEE -- Bucks rookie Brandon Jennings has been fined $7,500 for posting a message on his Twitter account after Milwaukee's 108-101 double overtime win over Portland last weekend.

Jennings was fined for the timing of his post, not the content when he tweeted: "Back to 500. Yess!!! "500" means where doing good. Way to Play Hard Guys."

The fine was announced Friday before the Bucks played at Cleveland.

According to the NBA's social media policy, players cannot tweet during game time, defined as beginning 45 minutes before the game starts and ending after players have finished talking to the media following the game.

The message has been removed from Jennings' account.

the nba is a business. what do you expect? it's his job to talk to the media not tweet while he's on the job.

i like the fact that he's excited about being with the bucks and trying to be competitive. if he is as financially conservative as he claims to be, he'll keep the tweet til he gets home.

That sucks. I'm sure he knew the rule so it's no one's fault but his own. If the rules are set than you've gotta follow them, simple as that.

Since it doesn't say exactly when he tweeted Im guessing either before or during post game interviews? Stern is getting a lil ridiculous with the rules IMO. The real scrutiny should come over the content of the tweets (foul language, criticizing officials, etc.) instead of the timing. A couple of guys have been fined and they didn't even do it, their tweets just updated.

im sure they make a lot more back by lowering the luxury tax threshold. 7.5k*whatever number of fines aint much compared to the luxury tax the top 3 teams w/ the highest salaries are paying this year.

wtf is wrong with stern?

People diss him all the time, but really, he's made the NBA what it is.

Sure, there were mistakes, but he's been commisioner for so long, because he's done a fantastic job and made a lot of people a lot of money.

He's a visionary, and a great commisioner. I think everyone needs to take time and appreciate what David Stern has done for the NBA. If not for him, we'd still have Post Master General Larry O'brien running the league.

just because he didnt finish talking with the media? it's his job. if you're not doing your job you can expect to be disciplined. i don't see why you people don't get it. the nba is a company just like any other. it's the player's responsibility to talk to the media.
