View Full Version : Trade offers on table for Los Angeles Clippers' Marcus Camby

Some teams apparently would love to have Los Angeles Clippers forward Marcus Camby(notes) on their squads and supposedly have made trade proposals for the big fella, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy isn't confirming or denying such claims at this point. Camby is in the last year of his contract and making $9.1 million this season. Camby certainly has some desirable features: He's up in the top five of blocked shots per game and in the top six for rebounds per game as well.

"Marcus has been great," Dunleavy said. "We have a lot of guys that have a lot of interest from a lot of people."

They would no longer leave the D up to him and Billups would make sure of that (he's used to playing with a great Defensive Center [Ben Wallace] so it should work out fine.
He would also allow Karl to have at least 1 shot blocker on the court at all times with a camby and birdman roation. Nene Could slide to the pine and give them a very deep frontline.

i know this is unrealistic and there's no need to throw him into the mix....but the celtics would have two former defensive player of the year in their line-up, teams would score no more than 65 average ::D:

That would work.

Clippers:Brian Scalebrine, Tony Allen, JR Giddens, & Shelden Williams
Boston: Marcus Camby

Celtics would be loaded up front.

Please trade Kaman instead, and resign Camby on the cheap. But if he has to go then ship him for a SF like Butler or something.

keep in mind his contract is done after this season, so the clippers wouldnt just want a bunch of expiring contracts in return. i would like to see the bucks send joe alexander, a young talent who could work with the clippers, and kurt thomas as an expiring filler to get the deal done.

We've been discussing a Tayshaun for Camby swap over on the Pistons forum. Opinions are mixed, but it's a deal that definitely has some upside for both teams.

I'd really want Tayshaun WITH Hamilton, but that's not gonna happen.

Charlotte gives Tyson Chandler, D.J. Augustin, Stephen Graham; L.A. Clippers gives Marcus Camby, Sebastian Telfair!

i just dont think they trade him unless they get a great offer.
they dont even need to trade him

Dunleavy LOVES him and he has a huge expiring contract. Clippers are going to be active in the 2010 market too. they can use the expiring contract.

How about the New York pick the Jazz got for this year?
That might be a top five pick

Always liked Augustin but Graham?? someone else please!

I feel like we need to unload Camby while his price is still high
He can help any team in this league

I think every team would like a great rebounding and defensive big man, and to come along with that a great defensive big man. How about maggs and devan george for him.

As a fellow Clipper Fan I agree with Goatmilk. Dunleavey loves Camby as he should since he has been the best player on team so far. Kaman has had a good year so far but he is slowing down. Camby would be a great addition and would make many any team better. I just dont think he is going to be traded unless the Clippers get a really, really good offer. 2010 offseason is coming up and Cambys contract coming of the books gives the Clippers some money to spend. The clippers will not loose out by keeping him it will only make them more competitive and front court deeper once Griffin comes back.

Marcus Camby has been arguably our 2nd best player.....
he gives 100 percent out there....when we get offensive rebounds its usually him tapping the ball out...or offensive putbacks he comes out of nowhere and lays it in
i used to hate him ....but ive grown fond of him as a player he goes all out.....
he even nails the occasional mid range J he even made a 3 this year....
he could help a team looking for a defensive big man ALOT.....

i kinda wish he stayed because WITH HIM we cant stop nobody on Defense i dont want to imagine what it will be without him....
but someone could really use him ......

i hope the Clippers dont get bums in return
id be happy with a DECENT small forward or shooting guard....

:facepalm::facepalm:

sounds ridiculous but i agree with the guy.....id rather have marcus over kaman anyday....
for some reason Clipper fans seem to ignore the fact that ok yes Kaman is playing good but are we really going anywhere with him being our main option?

i dont understand why im the only one that sees this (atleast i hope im not)
if Eric Gordon were our main option i think we could be a way bettter team ...
the guy is so efficient yet he hardly gets a superstar amount of shots off (20s...)

with Chris Kaman as our main option we aint doing ****
id rather keep Camby than Kaman too....

I honestly think denvers should take him back. Now i dont know if that's possible without giving up any of their key players. He would be awesome in their current system. Especially if they want to beat the lakers in the playoff. I mean without a tall, strong, and defensive minded front-court i dont anyone beating the lakers. So kamby, nene, birdman would be a nice combination in the playoffs.
