Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets top the Western Conference, while Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat and LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers lead the Eastern Conference after the first returns of 2010 NBA All-Star Balloting presented by T-Mobile. Bryant, who shared All-Star MVP honors with Shaquille O'Neal last season, is the overall leader with 692,518 votes.

Bosh should be ahead of Garnett

And also, I'm surprised Bargnani is 3rd for centres in the east, I figured others would get more votes than him.

2 things

#1. I was right that the first returns would be released today :D

#2. Amare ahead of Bynum is just flat out NOT RIGHT. This is not Amare circa 2004-2007. I guess a guy who plays zero defense would be perfect for the all-star game, that's why he's leading among all centers.

1. T-Mac should not be in the list.
2. Duncan can't be out (18+ ppg, 11+ rpg).
3. D-Will deserves some love folks. He would've been a starter in the east without a doubt.

Forwards: LeBron James (Clev) 649,327; Kevin Garnett (Bos) 533,187; Chris Bosh (Tor) 303,550; my votes were for LBJ and Bosh here, but KG's loyal fans(in Minny and Boston) are boosting him here

Guards: Dwyane Wade (Mia) 672,227; Vince Carter (Orl) 292,002; Gilbert Arenas (Was) 212,526; my votes went to D-Wade and Arenas here, but I wanted to vote for Jennings(i know he's a rook, but he wowed alot of us so it deserved at least a write-in)

Centers: Dwight Howard (Orl) 625,279; Shaquille O'Neal (Cle) 206,657; Andrea Bargnani (Tor) 67,310: my vote was for D12, not watching alot of games this year, i just went with the sheep on this one.

Western Conference

Forwards: Carmelo Anthony (Den) 588,958; Dirk Nowitzki (Dal) 366,300; Pau Gasol (LAL) 280,758; Tim Duncan (SA) 271,321; Kevin Durant (OKC) 177,205; my votes went to Melo and Durant(i want scoring in my all-star game =D) but definitely Melo and a pick your poison with Gasol and Dirk, either one has been good this year.

Guards: Kobe Bryant (LAL) 692,518; Tracy McGrady (Hou) 281,545; Steve Nash (Pho) 272,135; my votes were Kobe and Nash, how T-Mac snuck in here is beyond me. Rocket fans(or Rockets fans?) are loyal though, doubt T-Mac would want to play in the All-Star game considering he hasn't played a game this year.

Centers: Amar'e Stoudemire (Pho) 447,776; Andrew Bynum (LAL) 299,484; my vote went to Bynum, homer pick, but no more Yao makes this selection more difficult, most went with the hybrid C Amare, but I like old school, so Bynum took my vote.

if dwill gets snubed again, and at the cost of tmac being voted in, ima be PISSED. im not a jazz fan or anything, but being a fan of basketball, dwill is a top 3 point guard in the entire league. and when i say top 3 i mean him, nash, and cp3 in my opinion are top 3 in no particular prder so u could make an arguemtn hes the best point in the league period. if tmac ends up being voted in and ends up accepting, that means nash and cp3 will be the other 2 guards voted in by coaches, and once again deron will get snubbed. ridiculous.

All star game is for invididual accolades not for how good or bad your team is.

but there's a limit to how bad ur team can be. No way anyone with a team that has less than 10 wins is making the all-star team by the all-star break (thru 52 games or so), no matter how good they're numbers are

Brook Lopez has the best stats of all centers in the east and hes 5th...

His low rebounding numbers and low scoring (for a 1st option) aren't the "best stats of all centers"

And yes, he was the 1st option and practically only option, while Harris was injured for like 15 games.

9.10 Rebounds a game is just under a double double which is not low. Secondly its him and Harris who was injured for a while scoring a lot is tough when you are getting double and triple teamed. Dont forget he is 3rd in the NBA in blocks per game, is an 83 percent free throw shooter, 5th in the NBA in double doubles, is in the top 20 in PER and the list goes on.

9.1rpg is low for a player who's running mate in the frontcourt avgs only 5.9rpg. With the absence of JianLian, Lopez's rebounding numbers should've seen a huge jump seeing as how his rebounding oppurtunities had opened up, but he just went from 8.8 to 9.1.

Idk what you mean by "its him and Harris who was injured" Lopez has played 22 games, he has never sat out a game. When your opputunity for scoring opens up, putting up points with capable shooters around you isn't very difficult.

His blocks have gone up slightly, but his fouls have gone up even moreso... take more chances at trying to block a ball, obviously your numbers will see an increase.

His numbers are nice so far, but I'm curious to see how they'll look in 2-3 months, when Harris goes back to running the show. Plus, Dwight has shut him down twice already this season, once with the whole Nets' lineup healthy, so you know that his game can improve.

I do agree with the FT shooting though, he's consistently been solid from the charity stripe, which will pay dividends late in games, provided they can stay in it that long.

This thing is going to work itself out in the long run, because Steve Nash or CP3 are going to catch Tmac in the fan voting soon. Then the coaches are going to vote Deron Williams into the game, he really deserves it. That would make the 3 pgs for the west.

starting line-up
West East
C Amare, Dwight
PF Dirk, KG
SF Carmelo, Lebron
SG Kobe, Carter
PG Nash, Wade

bench
C Bynum, David Lee
PFDuncan, Chris Bosh
SF Durrant, Pierce
SG Roy, Johnson
PG Williams, Jennings

Paul, Gerald Wallace
Billups, Danny Granger if hurt then Arenas

These are the most deserving players that should be all-stars in my opinion. As for the starters Bynum should be starting, but realistically he is not going to catch Amare. With that said Amare does deserve to be an all-star, because Bynum has been the only center in the west outplaying him. The most controversial pick is David Lee. It may seem as a homer pick, but besides Dwight Howard no other center in the east is putting up better numbers than David Lee.

This thing is going to work itself out in the long run, because Steve Nash or CP3 are going to catch Tmac in the fan voting soon. Then the coaches are going to vote Deron Williams into the game, he really deserves it. That would make the 3 pgs for the west.

starting line-up
West East
C Amare, Dwight
PF Dirk, KG
SF Carmelo, Lebron
SG Kobe, Carter
PG Nash, Wade

bench
C Bynum, David Lee
PFDuncan, Chris Bosh
SF Durrant, Pierce
SG Roy, Johnson
PG Williams, Jennings

Paul, Gerald Wallace
Billups, Danny Granger if hurt then Arenas

These are the most deserving players that should be all-stars in my opinion. As for the starters Bynum should be starting, but realistically he is not going to catch Amare. With that said Amare does deserve to be an all-star, because Bynum has been the only center in the west outplaying him. The most controversial pick is David Lee. It may seem as a homer pick, but besides Dwight Howard no other center in the east is putting up better numbers than David Lee.

i like your list all but i think that pau gasol should be in the all star game.
