I'd say CDR, but putting up big numbers on a 1-18 team doesn't seem so great if you ask me.

That being said, my pick would be Ariza, could be biased, but I think they way he's stepped up his game and led the Rockets this season is phenomenal.

Monta is a pretty good choice but people would call me a homer... so i am going with Brook Lopez or CDR or Kaman

Joakim Noah imo

actually yo, im gonna go wid u on that one. Hez been amazing, he's averaging close to 25 ppg, and is just straight up ballin'

CDR aint gonna win nothin. The NBA is not going to give any award to a player that is on a team that will most likely end up with the worst record in the nba. its just not gonna happen i dont think. but monta is a strong possiblity.

i would place Carl Landry and Aaron Brooks above Ariza

kblo247
12-08-2009, 02:28 AM
I'll actually go Kaman as everyone knew Landry could score but his rebounding hasn't improved like Brooks/Beasley's D

yeah but he is also averaging 5 TOs a game ( approximately )

well, thats bound to happen cuz its a highly highly fast paced offense as well as the fact that he has the ball in his hands most of the time and he's either scoring himself or trying to create for others.

Dahntay Jones.

 He'd be my pick.

Dahntay Jones.

Ah totally forgot about him. I'd actually have to give it to him, the way he's been able to improve his offensive arsenal in one season has been tremendous.

Channing Frye at least has to mentioned in this discussion

Channing Frye at least has to mentioned in this discussion

Why?

He is just doing what he did as a rook.

He isn't averaging a double, double or shooting lights out so he shouldn't be mentioned.

Chicagofaithful
12-08-2009, 02:47 AM
Listen not to be a homer but are you kidding me? No Joakim noah? he goes from almost out of the league to 2nd place in rebounding and one of the league's top double double players. I'm not saying he's the clear-cut first place player but he deserves to be on this list wtf?

Now me not being a homer, it has to be CDR...

Monte has done this before and so has Kaman...

ZebraCity916
12-08-2009, 03:01 AM
CDR is definitely improved a lot but since it's only his 2nd year, he's expected to improve. Nobody expected Dahntay Jones to come out as an offensive weapon this year. I guess CDR is kinda a surprise too but not as much as Jones in my opinion.

GoatMilk
12-08-2009, 03:05 AM
lol Monta Ellis?
seriously guys?

he won it 2 years ago and hasnt improved much since then. only difference is he's now his team's main offensive weapon so of course he's going to score more

29$JerZ
12-08-2009, 03:21 AM
I don't know if this is a rule or not but Monta has already won the MIP, so wouldn't winning another seem very unlikely?

ZebraCity916
12-08-2009, 03:25 AM
I forgot Ellis already won it a couple years ago. Can you win that title twice??

thapharcyd
12-08-2009, 03:28 AM
Why?

He is just doing what he did as a rook.

He isn't averaging a double, double or shooting lights out so he shouldn't be mentioned.

Ummm he is 2nd in the NBA in 3 pointers made... He made 3, his entire rookie season, 3-9 actually... So he is a way better 3 point shooter, so saying he is doing what he did as a rook is a very uneducated statement :eyebrow:

Marc Gasol or Joakim Noah

12-08-2009, 03:33 AM
D jones is playing damn well. Mongoloid Kaman is beasting but Blake is out out over there and the Clips sucks bad. Noah has a shot.

No love for Bynum? I noticed that unless you're a laker fan you probably don't like Bynum.

I have to go with CDR. I don't care if the Nets go 1-81, the guy has stepped up his game big time.

Homer Pick: Bynum of course, this may be the year he finally gets his **** together, and I say that with great caution as we all know what has happened the previous two seasons...

just shut the hell up!

he hasn't improved, he just hasn't
looks like he's on decline actually
his percentages are awful 37FG% 32 3PT%

HE HASN'T IMPROVED! DO YOU KNOW GET IT?

It should go to Bynum, he's the best center in the league which his huge skill set!

Not right now. Dwight Howard is prolly the most overrated player in the NBA right now.

My pick is Danthay Jones...who can become a great two way player.

$ NyC $
12-08-2009, 07:53 AM
Its not Ariza because his shooting percentage just doesn't cut it.

Can't be Monta cause we all know he can score but the other game he had what 7 TOs and last night 9 i think..comon any given night dude can give you a triple dub. Been scoring a lot lately though.

Bynum has improved this season, so has Marc Gasol. Jones prob. is gonna take Grangers spot now that he's injured so he could stay up there...not many people are coming 2 mind at the moment.

WOW... most overrated player?!!? He only basically leads the league in rebounding (he is .01 rpg behind Gerald Wallace which he will pass within a game and is playing less mins), and he also leads the league in field goal percentage. How is that overrated? His numbers are down slightly but so are his minutes.

i'm a laker fan, but Bynum is not the best center in the league, possibly not even top 3.

I would place Dwight above him, and if you consider Bosh a C, then him too. Also, Lopez is playing very well, regardless of his team.

IMO, those 3 are above Bynum's caliber at the moment. If Bosh isn't a C, then Bynum is top 3. Also, you can argue that Bynum is better than Lopez as well.

but to me:

1. Howard
2. Bosh
3. Lopez
4. Bynum

Bynum is definitely the best in the west though.

Theres no way that lopez is better than bynum!

Bosh is a PF and he plays zero defense

bynum in orlando would but up same numbers like dwight or even better
maybe not that much rebounds but definetly more points because dwight can only dunk and cant even hit FTs

something like this 27PPG 13RPG 2BPG

I would go with Joakim Noah. The dude is playing great lately.

Instead of including Monta Ellis who has already won and hasn't changed much since then, why not include his team-mate A. Morrow in your list??? He is playing great and shooting the lights out for a guy who was never drafted!

here's the top 5 center for you

1.Howard
2.Ducan
3.Bosh
4.Bynum
5.Big AL
The only reason Bynum is #4 on my list is because Kobe Bryant. You think teams focus on Bynum? The answer is no, there focusing on Kobe and Pau not Bynum. Pau can even be considered a center, so you should be happy if hes in the top 4. . If you put Bynum on just about any other team, he would be average at best.

In reality, Bynum really hasn't improved, and this was what he was capable of and showed us during his healthy stretches the past two years. His "improvements" are just him adjusting from lack of playing and injury time with more minutes. 07-08: 13.1 ppg on 64.3% w/ 10 rebs 2 assists and 2 bpg in 28 mins? I think he had it for a while just didn't get a chance to show it. Some people still think he wouldn't have made a difference in the LA/Bos Finals series...

Main reason I wouldn't put CDR on the list is because he didn't really play last season to begin with. It's like this year is his rookie season. My list would include, Brooks, Ariza, Hibbert, Gasol, and Noah. Can't see Dahntay Jones keeping up his level of play.
