NBA commissioner David Stern said in an interview with Sports Illustrated he believes a woman could be playing in the league at some point in the next decade.

..........

"Ten years?" James asked. "That's, like, right around the corner. [In] 10 years, I'll be 34. I'll still be in the NBA. I think 10 years is pushing it, honestly."

WNBA, for women(exclusively), but NBA has no rules AGAINST women, they just arent good enough

I think Lebron is right. Candace Parker in the league wouldn't be that great. Also, would teams be willing to pay women NBA money knowing they could get pregnant and have to miss significant time? Possibly come back with a lot of gained weight? I don't think the league would ever try to even attempt to pass a rule like that.

yeah, the top women basketball players cannot compete with the top men players, Im not saying girls cant play basketball because they can, and Ive played 2 girls one on one who have beaten me, but their bodies just wouldnt be able to handle the physicality of the big men in this league...their may eventually be a woman NBA player, but it wouldnt be because the GM would think she could help the team, it would be for publicity.

Women in the NBA would be the dumbest thing ever....I think Stern is losing it and becoming more delusional as the days go...

Could you imagine a woman posting up on a man with her back to the basket, and the NBA player rubbing all up on her ***???? Get reaaaal.

It would be a great marketing opportunity at the very least. Some owner would take a chance.

You know that Lebron truly believes (as we all do) that a woman will never play in the NBA, it wouldn't be good press for him to say it though.

Women will never play in the NBA, ever.. These "scrubs" in the NBA that never even see the court would be stars in the WNBA. A woman would never see the court if she were on an NBA team. Plus, it would just cause to many problems...

I dont see what good could come from women in the nba.... seriously, do they think that it would go smoothly? Something is guaranteed to happen, and it would just lead to more whining.

I think some of the best female players in the wnba are better then some of the worst players in the nba. i can give names and comparisons but i think thats a fair statment to make.

but for examble. brian scalibrine wouldnt be mvp in the wnba. perhaps a dominant player but no mvp.

i know its sounds funny but im not even joking.

The GOAT to play in the WNBA would probably make an inconsistent role player in the NBA.

Who wants to watch a team where a roster spot is wasted on a publicity stunt to make 12 year old girls buy there jerzy. This is only about money.

if someone honestly thinks that the best player in the WNBA would even be able to contribute on the court AT ALL in the NBA they are delusional. With 9 other men on the court who are faster, considerably stronger, and more athletic, they would be LOST. stern is an IDIOT

no it sounds stupid. if scal playd in the wnba for 10 years he would avg 40 and 20 and win 10 mvps 10 finals mvps and 10 defensive player of the year mvps... hes bigger stronger .. even quicker and more explosive.. i honestly cant believe u would post sumthin like that/

If I ever see a female player in the NBA of any signifigance I will be shocked. I could possibly see a woman play as a publicity stunt but if she can ball against legit NBA players I will be absolutely shocked.

just think about the environment in the locker rooms with women around all the time, players wont be able to butt slap teammates no more, everybody being careful of unappropriated touch , also new dressing/showers code, etc, etc... stern is buggin,:facepalm:
thats gonna make the nba a joke, a circues,
i hope im not around the day they decide to go on with that horse crap

How about fixing up the All-Star weekend? The game is already turning soft, this will just solidify it.

Honestly I'm a T-Wolves fan and I'd rather have Candace Parker than Brian Cardinal any day...or for that matter Candace Parker is probably better than half our team..
