a Deron Williams interview after the Celtics game really impressed me, and what he said and his style is why I'd continue to take him over CP3 (yeah yeah homer alert). He said the Celtics destroyed us because they played as a team, everyone had their roles and he slammed his team mates for trying to force one on one situations all the time and not playing as a team, get the extra pass, get it to the open guy regardless of who he was. I dont think you'd ever hear CP3 saying that as he is the prime culprit for that. Since then Deron has run the system to perfection and is beasting, he sacrafices his own stats for Jerry's system and the W, and we havnt looked back. But nobody takes notice of Utah or D Will.

He sacrifices his own stats for Jerry's system?! that's a good one. Jerry's system is as PG friendly as it gets. Ask John Stockton.

go ask Boozer about his 3.6 dimes a game, or AK about his 3,2, or maybe Brewer about his 2.8..and then theres Maynor with 3.3..even Memo has 2. We all pass the ball and give up the personal game for what will ebenfit the team. Deron's not the only player that passes on our team unlike CP3 for the Hornets

That's some good balance but that just could be a factor in your other players actually making their shots when they take them (http://www.nba.com/statistics/sortable_team_statistics/sortable1.html#top. Utah is shooting at a .498 clip...as a team!!! That's good for 2nd in the league, just .001 behind Phoenix. Im in no way trying to knock Williams. He's great. I just think Utah (with Sloan) has, and always will favor the PG. Nothing wrong with that.

Raoul Duke
12-04-2009, 09:39 PM
Between Paul and Williams I'd have to flip a coin or something. They're both outstanding at the point. I think Paul is probably a little more skilled and has more of that "it" factor, but Williams is physically a beast at that position.

I'd probably take Williams because he's uglier, and Detroit has a rich history of having great ugly guys. Chauncey is ugly as sin.

jimbobjarree

no, the system has, and always will favor the PF, thats the center of our offense, not the PG. You should watch us play more.

and if you think our system favors the point, the Hornets system IS the point, either way Paul will have the ball in his hands alot more than Deron does.

You didn't even include the GOOD stats. You didn't include shooting % or assist to turnover numbers.

Jennings scores because he shoots..... alot.

Of course it is, just go ask Karl Malone and his second all time scoring record. And CP3 is the Hornets, Byron Scott has always been known for running a PG offense, for that you can ask Jason Kidd in his years at NJ.

Judging by this comment I would say you being a prophet is like David koresh calling himself a prophet... Blasphemy!!!!! I'll take Deron Williams. Better shooter, Better size, has never taken part in a losing season the guy's a winner. Too me He's a throwback and plays like a man. How are you going to run the pick and roll with Cp3. Williams is also far more durable. Please change your name theHoopsshcmuck.
