Chris Bosh was visibly upset after his team was embarrassed 146-115 in Atlanta on Wednesday night.

"Our defensive effort hasn't been there for awhile," Bosh said. "We got to be honest with ourselves. Tonight was just an embarrassment. We couldn't stop anybody. We haven't stopped anybody all year."

Bosh was held without a field goal in the game and told ****** that he couldn't remember the last time that had happened.

Bosh went on to say that "the past few games, we've been outworked in every aspect. We don't get on the ground. We don't consistently get rebounds. We give up a lot of points in the paint. No coverage is good for us. We're just not a good team."

The loss was Toronto's fifth in a row and dropped their record to 7-13 on the season.

I think there's absolutely no way he stays with them next year if the Raptors keep playing like this.

Plus, he also said he doesn't like Toronto's cold weather's and that it will be a factor.

I disagree with his assessment of the team but he, Jay have to inspire everyone to play as a team defensively. I am not expecting them to be a great defensive team but I would like them to get out of the bottom 5.

It's all on Marc I.

He can't teach them the defense they need.

If I was the Raptors, I'd go for a D'Antoni because the Raps offense is the only thing going for them.

I'm still not worried. We will make the playoffs.

Granted, we have a crappy record right now but look at the teams we lost to

a) Orlando x2
b) Phoenix x2
c) Boston
d) Atlanta
e) San Antonio
f) Denver
g) Dallas
h) Utah

All great and tough teams. That accounts for 10 of our 13 losses.

We will bounce back.

Yes but the team still played pretty well offensively, it was the defensive end where they lost the game.

I disagree, I dont think that this is consistantly a good offensive team. They look great when they hit those long range three balls and mid range jump shats and absolutely horrible when they miss them.

This teams offense all seems to come in the same form. Johnston, DD and Weems seem to be the only ones who slash or get in the paint and put back offensive rebounds. Other then that they are a bunch of jumpshooting biatches. Bosh too, 1 month of driving to the basket doesn't make up for years of jumpers.

You wanna see how you build a great offensive team? Look at Denver...

We all know that Bosh will not resign next year and Bosh is pulling out great numbers this year...why is Colangelo waiting to trade him?!? Trade him right now for a value C and SG! With the C, Raps would be able to move Bargs to PF wich is more he's place and the C that would come in would grab more rebound and could defend. And with a good SG, we could stop playing Weems or both PG at the same time. I've suggested a 3 teams deal on a Blazers forum that would make sense I think...I'll copy it for you...I'm only throwing in ideas, salaries may not match...

Clips get: Calderon, Webster and a filler from TO

Raps get: Kaman, Aldridge and Blake

Portland get: Bosh and Thornton

Something that would look about this would be really nice for every teams I guess...Raps get a real C and a real good PF and the lil Blaky...Blaze gets another allstar in Bosh and a real SF to play along the other young fellas and it also make space for Miller to have some more minutes, same thing for Bayless...Clips get a sharing pg to play with Gordon and Griffin, a SF to replace Thornton and create some outside shooting, and a role bench player...

What do you think about this trade? And if you're not so sure, how could we modify it a bit to make it possible?

explain how's thats fair for the Raptors? We'd be getting a headcase with numerous off-court problems, is a tweener between a 3 and 4, and likes to play away from the basket just as much as a guy we already have in Bargnani...any trade with Miami makes no sense for the Raptors from a fairness standpoint, and it won't happen

that's actually not bad, but then we'd have bargnani and aldridge at the four. i guess that would make one of them expendable and we could trade one of them for a SG or PG, or some picks. :)

Also, you clearly haven't seen too much of Beasley this year. He's doing his damage around the rim.

Beasley is an asset. He's got his shortcomings, but he's still a player. Think about it, is it better to have Beasley for 3 years or Bosh for the rest of this season. I take Beasley all day and not think twice. Losing Bosh for nothing this summer is just a bone-headed mistake. I think that Toronto could probably get Miami's first rounder too.

Why would Miami want 3 PF's on their roster? Because you know Beasley is much better suited for the 4 than 3. Get rid of Beasley's $5 million+ a year, sign Bosh long term and use the remaining money on the best PG and best C available.

Better suited? sure. Doesn't mean he still doesn't/can't play at the 3 and Bosh can't spend some time at the 5.

I'd still take a) beasley at the 3 bosh at the 4 b) beasley at the 4 bosh at the 5 (my preference) over Bosh at the 4, garbage at the 3 and no 1st rounder.

Where's the great Turkoglu? I love how non-Magic fans jumped all over the Magic for letting Turk walk. Magic are better w/o him and Toronto looks worse with him. Hmmmm.......

I think he has been fine. It would have been nice if he hit a couple of clutch shots but he has been doing everything he did last year. Nothing has changed.

The only way Bosh gets anything close to max money next season is if the team he wishes to go to agrees to a sign and trade with the Raptors; or if he resigns with Toronto.

To be perfectly honest I don't think he's worth max money but either way its implausible to imagine a scenario where Bryan lets Bosh walk for nothing.

The Raps are getting killed lately because really good teams with great systems are scouting the Raps perfectly, a team with no system.

Biggest difference is Howard is DPOY and Bosh isn't even close.

that's exactly my point. your GM gave you the pieces similar to what dhow got in orlando. and dhow led the team to the finals.
you can't turn around and say "we're just not a good team".

the biggest difference (roster) between magic last year, and raptors this year is bosh and dwight howard. so bosh just needs to stfu and play.
when you're the biggest difference between a finals contender and a lottery team, i'd stfu and play.

for the past few years, he always come out the gate putting up great numbers then slows down after 15 games. this year is no different.

Possible future conversation between HeirCanada and retired C Alonzo Mourning:

HeirCanada "Zo why did you leave Toronto and then go play in Miami"
Alonzo Mourning "This 2006 Championship Ring gets heavy sometimes" :D
HeirCanada "Well hows the segmental glomerular sclerosis Zo"?
Alonzo Mourning "Beat it" :D
HeirCanada "What do you think about Toronto Raptors?"
Alonzo Mourning "Beat them" :D
HeirCanada "How do you feel about me?"
Alonzo Mourning "Thank you for hating on me, it only fueled my fire when I was playing in the NBA" :D

HeirCanada after the conversation:

HeirCanada: "Man I wish Zo would come out of retirement and play some defense for the Raptors"

I wasn't hating on Alonzo, I was just putting a trade out there like all of the other Heat fans. Geeze, I apologize for bad mouthing your saviour.

actually i think he has been hurt, or fatigued or whatever. his effort level is most def not what it was last season. we just need him at a 100 % then he will show his true value to the team.

I would trade bosh and calderon for lopez and harris.

that would be great for the raptors because

lopez-johnson
bargs-evans
turk-wright
dero-belli
harris-jack

that looks like a very deep and well balanced team to me.

and it helps new jersey try to lure LBJ by ataining an all star in Bosh. and a new owner that could take the team to broklyn.
