I applaud the Sixers decision to bring A.I back. I think the move could help their team in the East. However, I am skeptical of the Sixers intentions mainly because A.I's deal wasn't guaranteed.

My Question is, did they sign him to sell tickets? to help make the play-offs? or are they simply trying to bail A.I out of the embarrassment that no team wants the best player in Sixers history....or maybe some other reason. What'd ya think?

Because they are 5-13 and lost Louis Williams, not to mention they are 29th in attendance this season... they need him desperately.

they need money for tickets. like the guy before me said they are near the bottom in attendence. Iverson should help that. they are getting a all star player for cheap

Just about sums it up. There are multiple reasons

Exactly.

They need Iverson. There was no doubt in my mind they would sign him after I found out they were 29th in attendance. If he starts (Which he will according to Eddie Jordan) and they win a game or 2, everyone here can expect some sell outs, which means $$$ (cha ching). They made it non guaranteed just in case things don't work out, so they can just rid themselves of AI without paying any penalties.

And like Ralph said, they need another guard out there. It's a win win for the Sixers.

Memphis supposedly sold a ton of seats just because of AI. Too bad he didn't even get the chance to play for them. Sucks for those fans that really wanted to see him play, but w/e
