He cant be any worse than frank this year

idk why he wants to coach so bad that he'd desperatly go after that job. and as far as dwights progression, he's actually gotten worse this year so far, so i'm not too sure on how ewing is doing with him

He didnt do a very good job developing Dwight Howard. So I don't know how he would do as a head coach.

well, there's nothing he can do wrong with the nets, it just can't get any worse....on the other hand ewing will be the big hero once they start winning games...
i think i'd be a smart move to gain some coaching experience and start a new personal career

"can't do any worse" is a horrible way to judge if ewing should coach the nets.
heck the nets are 0-17, so technically, i can't do any worse either.

no offense patrick but you arent good enough to be a head coach.

arkanian215
11-30-2009, 12:18 PM
it could get worse. he could ruin the kids' development.

i dont see how anyone can say it cant get any worse. he could definitely wreck the future.

Rendered him injury prone? Yao had talent coming into the league, dude.

nah i think yao's injury-proneness is genetic from what ive heard. i think it happens a lot in obscenely tall people.

What do the Nets have to lose atm, if they lose another 10 straight, fire him, plain and simple.

well i prefer someone who has some previous experience and will play the young guys the most. someone who can prep them for every game like any good coach should. id say barrisse deserves a shot.

lol How did nobody comment on this. This could be the stupidest post I have ever read.

"Rendered him injury prone?"

Seriously?

What did he do?

Take a bat and bash his knees during every practice?

How the hell does a player's inherent physical vulnerabilities result from coaching ?

Oh! Maybe he can have everybody sporting a FlatTop and become great as he did :)

Its a real good move for the nets as far as marketing goes.

It would also help them land a star player next year.

Get Ewing as head coach, and have a strong assistant with him.

Ill tell u right now that WOULD BE SICCCCCKKKKK.... Hes a really good individual teacher, I bet hes a good team coach as well. Dwight Howard wouldnt be as elite as he is now if not for ewing as well as others. he makes players have a larger drive and goal, and forces them to play their hearts and bones out each game. Hed turn Brook Lopez into something really special and make Yi a heck of alot more aggressive. As a player he was a great teammate- like many legends of his time he showed the world why he was so great not by just stats and awards but by winning most games especially the big ones (dont say anything about 94 cuz everyone knows Ewing was the reason they made it so far every year, it was a team success to reach it so far and a team failure to not go all the way) but if he joins the nets hell really put them back on winning grounds. i hope this happens

He may be able to scare a win out of em.

It'd be funny if he was hired as a coach and right in his first game, the Nets win. Awesome.

Nets should pull the trigger for Pat, have nothing to lose and all to gain if it pans out. No other coach available at the moment comes to mind.

 really? nothing to lose? for all we know he could be a moron and choose to play a win now lineup.

Nets are 0-17, what win now line up can be made that hasn't been though of by Frank?

Maybe he'll make Brook be the focus offensively

I know he want's to be a coach and all, but i bothers me when he just comes out and says it because he is sorta ditching Dwight then.

This could be the only chance to get a starting job, Dwight pretty much is all he'll ever be. Offensively I can't see him being like PAT because Dwight is all power and no finesse. Kareem with Dwight imo would be a better fit and Pat with Bynum would have worked out.

Also dumping a good job in a winning Olando squad for an 0-17 NJ team just shows he only wants to coach nothing more.

It is called acromegaly... I am afraid the Rockets should move on without him... An unfortunate scenario given Yao is really a great center...

Back on the topic, I don't think Ewing should be a head coach... Just in case the Nets sign him, maybe he can have a positive influence on Lopez... I see a Duncan in that guy... Add a little ferocity from Ewing and maybe he can be a real beast!

i think patrick should eat a snickers bar and realize what he just said. dont be like pitino. you arent guaranteed the first pick in fact more than likely you will be screwed and have to pick 3 or 5

raph12,

your sig is ridiculous. Do you just pull for the teams that are stacked in the NBA. pick a team.

he needs to take on a team with more overall talent... that team is heavy on potential

if he ends up coaching the Nets he'll be a one and done coach

Ewing would be far worse, though a fresh voice may inspire the Nets win a couple games in the long run, Nets would be terrible with Ewing.
