I don't like that Utley did not finish 2nd. That guy gets no respect at all IMO.

I read somewhere else that Chris Coglhan, Brad Hawpe, and Jeremy Affeldt recieved votes. Whoever voted for them three show be banned from the voting. Just ********, No love for Prince Fielder he was by far more valuable than any of the Phiily palyers. Take Utley or Howard off that team they are still a playoff team. Take Prince of the Brewers and they are nothing.

No. Utley should have been 2nd, Hanley third. Werth should have been 5th or 6th, and Howard probably should have been 10th.

It's also a joke that Ryan Zimmerman only got 2 10th place votes and that's it.

Does it shock you though? It has always been an offensive award and his team sucks.

Nothing shocks me with the morons who get to vote, but 33 HR .292/.364/.525 for an OPS+ of 133, all while playing the best defense at 3B... He would have been number 4 or 5 in my book.

Eminem sucks :puke:

Dunno about that when he's on his game he's sick with the lyrics. He does make to many of those " Shady's back" silly songs. Hey that could be our cheer every time LeSean gets back to the end zone. Shady's Back.

I was also surprised by how low down he was. The fact that he got less votes that Miguel Tejada, Yadier Molina, and Yunel Escobar is just ridiculous.

Just so that you know, he had the best defense among first basemen last year as well....

Oh didnt realize they changed it from most valuble player to most valuble offensive player. Its not an offensive award, and defense counts to, or atleast should. Look at Jason Bay for example, his defense is so bad that his offense barely makes up for it. He didnt finsish ahead cause of stupid voter who think HR's and RBI's are important.

The link above has the full voting. Hopefully we'll soon find out which three voters had Prince Fielder tenth on their ballot, and who cast votes for Jeremy Affeldt, Brad Hawpe and Shane Victorino.

But of course, Law casting a vote for Justin Verlander is going to be given WAY more attention than someone voting for Brad-****ing-Hawpe.

That's what I meant by it being and award based on (perceived) offensive production. Like how Ryan Howard finished 3rd. Howard and Utley probably should have been flipped in how they finished in the voting.

Wow, Jeter got completely jobbed here. How could he not win the NL MVP? He was so good in interleague play. First Mauer rips him off and now this.

Well Jeter's interleague OPS was 1.048 and Albert's was 1.101 on the season. Plus Albert looked pretty sharp on defense. It's a close call but I think the voters got it right this time.

However, if Jeter would have kept his interleague SB rate all season he would have stolen about 65 bases on the year so that should count for something too.

When Pujols contract is up, St. Louis will have to pay him at least 17 million a year to stay there.

Utley not being anywhere near the top 5 just shows that he is the most underrated player in MLB.

I think Howard was ranked by fangraphs as the most clutch player of 2009. Where Utley was robbed was the WS MVP but I don't think we will ever see that go to the losing team again.

Pujols is the shizzy...

I'm with ya, Utley is a legit player for sure, but he plays with a bunch of really good players, maybe that is the reason he doesn't stand out as much if he were on a bad team.
