What we’ve been emphasizing the whole time is defense," said Ellis. "That’s one of our best defenders on the team. And we’re trying to get better as a defensive team. And now, who we got now that’s going to play defense? We got me. And who else?

Boy...this is getting interesting every minute. Didn't they get Raja Bell? Bell is a better defender than Jackson in my opinion.

I report..you decide.

I'll post link as soon as one pops up on a "allowed" site.

He's just trying to ****** and complain his way out of town the same way Stephen Jackson did. When was HE ever known as a good defender?

thats not the only things he said.

Monta Ellis admitted that it will be difficult for the Warriors to replace Stephen Jackson's production, but said he doesn't feel any added pressure.
"I'm not going to put any more on my back," Ellis said. "Somebody else is going to have to step up and take on the role." He also questioned the team's defense without Jax (and gave himself a shout-out) -- "Now, who have we got that's going to play defense? We've got me. Who else?" When asked about defensive specialist Raja Bell, Ellis replied, "I don’t know too much about dude."

-rotoworld

this guy thinks he's one of the best players in the world, people probably know raja bell better than him. can't throw you team under the bus, and say you're not going to do anymore than you're doing now and go on to disrespect a winning veteran like that.

those quotes alone makes me dislike this guy a lot.

wow why does monta ellis ***** about everything warriors do. first he *****es that they drafted curry. now hes crying that they traded away his best thug on the team

number one, why the **** does monta ellis call himself a defender. you havent ever defended ****. what kinda defedner lets a rookie drop 55 of him. im not saying hes a terrible defensive player nd a liability, but hes def not good enough to call himself the only defender on a team.

also, raja bell is a better defender then monta could ever imagine to be

its sad monta is sucha fukin baby. hes actually one of the most talented players in the league today.

that's the funny thing. he's not even a good defender himself. below average i'd say.
plus he creates matchup problems for his team. he can't play PG therefore he's forced to play undersized SG. which means either he's going to guard the opposed team's SG who's usually taller and bigger than him or he forces his team's PG to take on that role.

These last 2 yrs in the nba have been by far the worst in terms of egos, people wanting out, throwing teammates under the bus, not wanting to come off the bench, $$$$, not enough minutes, not wanting to play with a rookie, personal crap of the player taking him away from teh team, not liking the style of pay of the team, etc. etc. etc.

Whatever happened to just playin good ole' basketball?

The NBA is now like a soap opera of the WWE or something. Just a bunch of ******* running around in shorts on the dam basketball court.

jax took alot of critisizm before getting traded. and so did al harrington. and now ellis. it seems like any player who spends some time in golden state ends up wanting to get out of there. maybe its just nellie ? it cant be the players are all at fault. theres a pattern here. the only players that keep theyre mouths shut and just play in goldenstate seem to be either new or just really yonge and dont care where they play. guys like curry, turiaf, morrow.

but when those same players stay in golden state for another 2 seasons or 3 i can see them leaving disgruntled the same way.

i say its the coach and managment. all these players cant be at fault.

This is working out absolutely perfect for the warriors. Jackson's contract was absolutely god awful, they were able to get rid of that. Monta Ellis is a good player, but he is too small to guard other 2's, and he doesn't have the abilities to be a successful point guard. It worked when they had Baron as he could guard the 2's and Ellis could guard the 1's, but that was a rare special case. Curry can be the warriors future point guard, and now hopefully they can dish out Monta's contract for something of value, preferably a solid big man or picks. If they were able to get a player (a banger like Carlos Boozer for Monta) they would be in good shape. They will likely have a lottery pick, and then a rotation of Curry Morrow Randolph (boozer type guy) and Biedrins for the remainder of this year, then next year they will have a ton of cap room with Jackson's contract gone, and expirings of Claxton Bell George Moore Watson. Say they were able to sign Joe Johnson, and then draft John Wall with the #1 pick.

Curry/Wall
Johnson/Morrow/Wall
Randolph/Maggette/Azubuike
Boozer Type Guy/Wright/Maggette
Biedrins/Turiaf/Vlad Rad

oh and firing Don Nelson along with Rowell and Cohan selling the team wuld be a plus

i can almost guarantee you that if the starting point guard job came between curry and wall, that wall would beat out curry in training camp.

also, u can just put wall at the shooting guard like hes going to end up anyways and not sign joe johnson

I actually think Wright will turn out to be a solid 15-10 guy once he is healthy, but from what I remember the main reason they did it was to try to bring KG to the warriors as the T-Wolve's were obsessed with Wright.

Would have been something like Baron, Ellis, Jackson, KG, Biedrins

this team has some serious issues.

A team full of wing players that play no defense.

Don Nelson has done a poor job in developing some of their young talent. Brandon Wright was consider a top prospect but he's been given little to no play time. Anthony Randolph is clearly their most versatile player yet Nelson limits his minutes.

I am really not a fan of Don Nelson or his style of play. I think he needs to step down.

John Wall isn't going to end up as a SG, lol. Unless he grows 4-5 inches and gains 20 pounds during one year at Kansas, oh, and learns how to consistently shoot. He's unbelievable with the ball in his hands and can make plays at ease, no team is going to waste his skills, and utilize his weaknesses (Shooting), as apposed to strengths (Driving to the basket, playmaking) by putting him at the 2.

Don Nelson has got to go. You just do not trade Monte Ellis right now, he's GS best player.
