Is Dirk Nowitzki officially the best active PF in the world today yet? Or do people like the popular Kevin Garnett and the injury prone Tim Duncan so much that they still believe the three are in the same ballpark? Granted, Tim Duncan is the greatest PF of all time, but who would you say is the best active PF today?

(BTW, I'm thinking I would even put Bosh/Gasol ahead of Duncan now. Garnett shouldn't even be mentioned in this thread, but I know he is a God to some people.)

Dirk is at number 1. Then Bosh. I know people will disagree, but Bosh is averaging a monster double double this year and is shooting a great percentage.

It's definitely between Bosh and Dirk.

At this point its a two man race. Bosh and Dirk. Bosh being younger obviously has the better upside but right now Dirk edges him out. A few years it'll be Bosh though.

I'd say it's a toss up between Dirk, Bosh and TD.

Tim Duncan is a C.

But Dirk and Pau are pretty much neck and neck to me. KG is still in the discussion for sure though. He's not putting up gaudy numbers, but his efficiency and impact are still sky high.

Duncan when he is healthy, but right now Dirk is probably right there with KG.

Neither Bosh or Dirk play good enough defense to really stand out that much over anyone else. I do think Dirk is the best, but because of defense, I don't think that he is that far ahead of KG or TD still.

I'd actually almost take Gasol over any other PF in the league right now. Fundamentally sound on offense, and an amazing defender. He's not soft either...he proved that in the playoffs last year. Dudes a stud.

Dirk.

Yea I think Pau would give him a run for his money now, and probably Duncan (If you want to count him as aPF) when hes healthy. I need to see Duncan struggle to stay healthy and struggle to perform in the playoffs one more time before thinking hes done as far as being arguably the best at his (fake)position. Kind of like how I felt about Shaq after his 4th title.

Oh because Duncan is injured he's now "injury prone"?? lol.

The guy who has played 905 regular season games and 106 playoff games in 13 seasons??

stat-wise it's dirk or bosh. But I would still take Duncan and Garnett in the playoffs. Duncan is injured that's why his stats look poor. And Garnett is not playing as hard as he probably could. Celtics are very careful about him simply bcz they will need him most in the playoffs.

lol... So people who get injured frequently but still play on it in crunch time, aren't considered injury prone?

He's a work horse, always has been. I don't debate that. But going on how many games he has played is misleading considering many players play injured and the number of years Duncan has to play injured in the playoffs.

ie... Josh Howard. He has suited up and played in 80% of his games since he entered in the NBA, but um, he tends to get injured frequently... he played in many of those games injured, especially in the playoffs (last season against the Spurs) because they needed him to win/advance.

hahahaha

For me its dirk, Timmy, Gasol then KG.

Bosh is just too bad on defence, and doesnt shoot a high % on O.

He let a extremely struggling Stoudemire score 30 points on 10 - 15 shooting.

Dirk Nowitzki is the best shooting power forward. Amare Stoudemire is the best power power forward. Tim Duncan is the the most consistent 20 and 10 power forward (although he's under 20 per game so far).

are we considering amare a 5? because he put down 30-8 on bosh/bargs last night.

but then again...he only put up 8 on bynum/odom.

1.Duncan
2.Garnett
3.Dirk
4.Bosh

and then the rest

Duncan is not injury prone. He's played 70 or more games in the last 8 seasons but once. Garnett is popular but his game backs it up.

In the last decade yes, but right now Dirk is better than Garnett and Duncan.

Duncan has played like 7 games this season on a defensive oriented team so it won't show up on his stats.

Even though he sucks now, Elton Brand will always be my favorite player.
