View Full Version : What are the Options for Byron Scott

Where do you see Byron Scott's coaching career headed now that he is out of New Orleans and was previously fired from New Jersey??

I see him making a serious run for the Lakers head coaching position next summer or the summer after (depending on how Phil feels physically).

He may have other options, so I wanted to know from all of you where he might end up.

As this season, I guess he will fit coaching the Clippers or Grizzlies...
Hollins Sucks!! And Clippers need a Head Coach!!

Man coaches just can't keep a job anymore. He seemed to do well in Jersey leading that team to the final twice iirc. Then 2 years ago led an overachieving Hornets team to nearly the best in the West. He seemed to do a good job. That team is just being exposed for what they are which is just mediocre. And thats not his fault it's on management for not bringing CP3 in some help.

We need a new coach; but I'm not sure Byron is a fit. We need a hot blooded raging beast of a coach to light a fire under the players' butts......and Byron looks AWFULLY cool to me:cool:

I know he looks cool but i feel its a silent killer type of one, i have heard his practices are xtreme, but maybe he has toned it down, but he is very vocal and straightforward so that is a coach any team needs, especially the GRIZZ, wouldnt it be nice to bring BYRON/AI in together and let SCOTT say we signed AI to lead this young team...but i dont know if they can get out of a 1-12/14 hole, but as of right now they can if it happened..but oh well i hope AI goes to CAVS/MAVS, i mean i think they started BAREA at 2 with KIDD, i mean come on first CONLEY now BAREA, hes better than 4 of those guys each combined and the CAVS could use another creator with JAMES/ONEAL

I would like to see him picked up by Chicago after the VDN experiment expires but I doubt Scott would still be available. He would bring with him the outside shooting coaching ability the team sorely needs, a strong work ethic, and experience with an explosive PG. One can always hope.

Scott goes to the Golden State Warriors, where he becomes Nelly's enforcer. :-)

I believe with a young and very talented team like the grizz he can teach them how to win. Believe it or not I think Mike Woodson taught the hawks the game but Scott can take them to another level.

he will coach the lake show next year or the year after .

11-13-2009, 09:56 AM
I think he'll go to a team like Memphis, a young team that needs a good coach to help them develop into a good team.

He should go back to being a great analyst.

A team will call soon enough,
hopefully the pistons will make room for an assistant.
