Last year there were some steals like Mario Chalmers, and Courtney Lee. Two player that start. Who might be this years steal/steals.
Maybe Taj Gibson, Toney Douglas, or DeJuan Blair.
What do u guys think.

You're not a steal when you're the first overall pick. You get what you paid for.

okay well you cant call blair a steal, becuase he is a top 10 talent. Just because he has no acl's he fell to the 2nd rd. blair will never be able to play more than 20 mins a game and hold up without getting injured.

jennings at ten was a steal. if he had gone to college or been allowed to come straight outa high school he woulda been number one or two pick easily

Getting a top 10 talent in the second round can't be a steal because there is a perceived risk that hasn't been proven to true yet? He played at Pitt with no ACL's. Everyone says that he will have a very short NBA career. He will be the steal of the draft until that actually is the case.

As for other options:
DaJuan Summers is going to be a very good NBA player someday.
Rodrigue Beaubois is extremely talented and will be good if he is given the opportunity.
Ty Lawson should not have dropped as far as he did.

Well he is the best player outta that draft so far. But wasen't he the tenth or eleventh pick. He may not be a steal. We may have to wait and see.

Brandon Jennings... I have a feeling a lot of teams will regret passing on him, but I don't think he'll stay in Milwaukee for long. I would have loved to see him in New York.

Ty Lawson is another player who should've gone a lot higher. Same with DeJuan Blair.

Considering each of their positions in the draft:

Blair
Budinger
Jennings (potentially)
Taj (sweet stroke)

I won't try to say he's more or less of a steal than any other "steals", but I think the Nuggets got a fantastic deal getting Lawson.

Chase Budinger, Dejuan Blair & Ty Lawson.

Homer: Wesley Matthews has been pretty good for an undrafted guy so far.

All of ya'll who are showing soem love to Blair are hitting the nail on the head. The only thing I can't figure out is why Pop isn't giving him more minutes. He may not have a long career due to the ACL issues, but he will play brilliantly while his career lasts, and it is especially impressive that he is so dominant fresh from the start, not only because he is a rookie, but because at 6'7 he gives up 2-5 inches on a lot of the guys he plays against at power forward.

That's the definition of a steal... A top ten talent that you swipe in a late round...

I am not sure just because of what type of talent you have your a steal - its obviously production as well. I think as a general rule Top 15 picks cannot be considered steals.

This year I would say Blair, Budinger, and Jerebko are looking like Steals, but we are only a few games in.

JONAS JEREBKo and AUSTIN DAYE

Austin Daye maybe, especially in a few years, but not that other guy. DeRozan already starts for the Raptors (partly due to their lack of talented 2 guards) and in a few years I think some teams will be kicking themselves for passing on him.

Yeah I agree, DeRozan is really showing how intelligent of a basketball player he is.

He might be the steal of the draft to a team that expects production now and is willing to live with the huge long term risk of drafting a man with no ACL's. So far, I think the steal of draft is Jennings. Whatever attitude problems he might have, it's not as big a risk for a team as drafting someone with no ACL's.. in the long or short term.

Eventually Rodrigue Beaubois can be considered a steal. He got his first start vs the Hornets and got the Mavs first 9 points. He is freakishly athletic and he can shoot. He also has a 6-10 wing span so he can be productive on the defensive end if Carlisle would give him some solid minutes.

Earl Clark @ 14, hasn't shown it yet but down the road I think he'll be see as a great value pick.

...and as an early bust Hasheem Thabeet has looked pretty disappointing for the Grizzlies for the number two pick, granted big men take longer to develop but I only see him as being a shot blocker...nothing more.

I think pretty much all of the NBA followers on PSD thought the same thing at draft time.

Blair if he can stay healthy, otherwise, IDk, Taj is solid, but not a carear starter IMO

I knew Blair was gonna be a steal even before the draft, and I wasnt wrong, so it's no surprise he's producing the way he is.

Players who surprised me: Taj Gibson, Chase Budinger. I didnt think they would be playing as well as they are. I can't really say who's the steal of this year's draft when it's only the beginning of the season. I could only say a player is looking to be a steal. Cuz, sooner or later they may just drop and only play up to their draft position.

Jrue Holliday will turn heads in a year or two, especially since he's only a year removed from college and needs to adjust.

Isn't it a bit early to be talking "steal of the draft" ONE WEEK INTO THE SEASON?!

Some points:
1) Jennings definitely has some talent, I don't think anyone was really fooled by his stats in Europe. He has said some really stupid things though even just over the summer and is my early candidate for the next Stephon Marbury of the league (who by the way also was pretty talented).

2) Blair and Buddinger were projected as lottery picks at various times, I think it just came down to "fit" and what team could actually afford to take a 6'7" PF and an upperclassman who still hadn't played defense very well.

Shiid Brandon Jennings. I know he was picked up top 10 but the doode is playing like #1 pick talent and i said he was going to be good, and reminded me of hibachi aka Agent Zero aka gilbert arenas but i didnt think it was gonna come out of him this fast. but i could say blair too since he got picked up so late and hes just a beast
