As a Yankee fan, it's Piazza and there's no argument.

Piazza could carry a team on his back for the whole year see the 2000 Mets.

Jorge Posada is one of the most underrated players to ever step onto a ballfield.

That being said, this isn't even very close. It's Mike.

Jorge Posada is a damn good baseball player, but Mike Piazza is much better.

As much as I've enjoyed being able to watch Posada from afar, it's easily Piazza.

Piazza could be the top 5 catchers of all time....Piazza no question

Neither one of them are good fielders and Piazza is a far superior hitter, so the answer is Piazza.

Offensively, in his prime, Piazza was probably the best catcher ever.

Piazza had an OPS over 1.000 in 4 separate years (95,97,98,00)

His OPS did not dip below .800 until 2005 (when he was 36)

Posada has had 3 seasons with an OPS over .900; none over 1.000

Voted for Posada by accident..

It is easily Piazza...he was a rare player that teams could build around. Posada is good and very solid, Piazza was great.

There's been whispers, but until and unless I hear solid evidence that Piazza was using PSDs his whole career, Piazza is a no brainer.

Piazza had a 185 OPS+ once...That guy was a Pujols like bat in his prime:

Posada is better defensively but not enough to make him overall better, not even close.

There should not even be a debate over this. Posada is a great catcher, but Piazza is the best offensive catcher of all time.

Mike Piazza, the best hitting catchers of all-time.

Fixed that for you. He is not just "one of the" best hitting catchers.

Piazza was no joke with his bat, therfore merits the vote.. His arm was comical though.

Posada is thought of as a stronger offensive then defense catcher - for good reason. But his offense is no match for Piazza, and his defense isn't better by enough to come close to making up the difference.

Still if I had to build a team to play for 10 years, I'd be thinking of Bench, Carter, Campanella, and Berra as the primaries, with guys like Piazza, Cochrane, Simmons as the back-up/PH types.

Posada will never crack the top 10 IMO, Piazza has to be no worse then 5th.

Watching Piazza throw was a painful experience, but his bat made up for it.

Piazza carried two mediocre Met teams deep into the playoffs (see 1999 and 2000) and was DOMINANT at the plate for a long time. Posada is good and a yankee legend BUT if anyone takes Posada over Piazza, they're on crack.

Piazza is sexier too if that counts...

By age Posada was better when he was 34 and 35... every other year Piazza put up better numbers.

no way best of all time, put him back in time and he still be great , but no dickey, berra. bench, campy or mickey cochrane, get real, mike hit in watered down pitching era, plus gibson would have thrown him high and tight, and he would have been intimidated, like clemons
