Uh, how did Ariza get the nod for MVP candidate but Aaron Brooks didn't?

Aaron Brooks is playing better than Ariza, even if it seems like Ariza is the go-to guy.

I agree, I think the only reason why Ariza is up there is because of his success in Houston and he's the most "popular" person in the team due to the Lakers

and Ariza over CP3?

The Rockets have a winning record and the Hornets do not. However, Dirk Nowitzki is more deserving.

Lol sooo? By 1 Game :(

They basically just picked the best player on the Rockets right now and decided to put him in the top 10.

Yeah sorry. LOL
if they had one more win (3-3) then he would be in it. they shouldn't have lost against the knicks. Besides, it's only the first week so it don't matter as much

Vinny642

I agree with you. But I dont think CP3 would win the MVP. He definately will put up the stats to be MVP, but he won't. The players that win MVP, have to be on a really good team(mostly first or second seed in playoffs). I think it's ********, but its the way the voting has changed over the years. For example, D-Wade had the best stats last season and IMO he should have been MVP. But the give it to Lebron becuz his team had a better record.

man...Wade can't win. Last year he did it all and people said he needed to win more. Now he wins more and still gets shafted...

It's only week 1, so there was bound to be "shocking" picks. I think its kind of disrespectful that Ariza is over Bosh, CP3, and Lebron (Did I just stand up for Lebron!? :speechless:) Doesn't really matter. Its going to come down to Kobe, Melo, Paul, James, and Dwight and no one really has a shot at it besides them.

If that where the case, Drew gooden with the bulls would have won a few MVPs himself.

Kobe is playing mvp type of basketball right now, no Pau(past 6 games) and no Bynum tonight. His team is 5-1 right now and he's leading the league in scoring and steals per game. He's also dropped 3 straight 40 plus point games all ending in victory.

I think if the Heat win 50 or more it's gotta be Wade, look at his teammates, without him does that team win 20 games?

Ariza is not the Rockets' sole MVP, Brooks and Scola are both equally deserving of that title as well. Sort of like the Boston situation, you can't really say which is their best player.

I almost went crazy when i didnt see wade up there. your bad.
But i dont think people would see Cp3 as an option for MVP, cuz his team wont do good enough for him to win it. Even if he puts up the best stats. Like D-Wade didnt win it last yr.

As of right now, Kobe Bryant has been the MVP. Of course, the season is extremely young so it doesn't really matter, but I guess it's fun to discuss this kind of stuff and monitor the progression of the players.

BTW--Kobe is averaging 35 PPG on 48% shooting while the Lakers are 5-1 without Pau for all 6 games and without Bynum for 1 of them.

Kobe has done great, but we have had a very easy schedule. I'm ok with Melo on top for now.

Kobe has done great, but we have had a very easy schedule. I'm ok with Melo on top for now.

Sure, but I think the easy schedule is canceled out with the loss of Pau Gasol and no bench. That's just me and others have their own opinion.

Melo has been great though for sure, but if we are talking schedules, then check out the Nuggets schedule.

Nuggets have played:

Utah- OK.
Portland- Good.
Memphis- Bad.
Indiana- Below Average.
Nets- Bad.
Miami- Nuggs lost.

The Lakers schedule hasn't been tough at all (only Mavs and Rockets are tough; Thunder have been hot too), but the Nuggets schedule isn't filled with good teams either.
