This is crazy talk coming from me, but Lebron will probably not score 60 because he likes to pass the ball too damn much. If he shoots like Kobe, im willing to bet he scores 60 points as easily when he drops 50.

Kobe, Melo, Wade, Arenas, and Bron are the only ones that I feel are capable of dropping 50 in a game , let alone 60. I got either Wade or Arenas dropping 60 if it were to happen first, but I would give Kobe and Wade the best shot of doing it throughout the season.

kobe did it last season, but they had ariza instead of artest (who does like the ball moreso than trevor), and it was the first game after bynum's injury, so i kinda see your point.

But Lebron can still do it. Shaq is old and no longer "needs the ball", new additions of parker and moon dont really need the ball. and delonte, altho needs the ball at times, is more of a teamplayer. lebron's only competition in terms of "needing the ball" is the great Mo Williams.

If you had watched the HEAT's first 2 games you would have seen that probably/hopefully is not true any more.

And Gilbert, on that team? With Jamison and Butler and Miller and Foye all there too? Those are all very capable scorers.

I wouldn't rule out a 60 point game from either of them (although I don't think so), but I would hardly call them their teams' entire offense, especially Gilbert.

dude, scoring 60 is no joke, Deron Williams is not gonna do it, prolly ever, cuz hes not at the level of a scoring point guard like gilbert arenas, and Kevin Durant is only in his 3rd season and forget about the scoring prowess of Kobe, he's not even close to D-wade and Lebron. Kid is still too young and raw, but he will drastically improve this season. but a no-no to 60 for durant or williams.

I agree with your statement that Deron will probably never reach the 60 point plateau, but I disagree with the notion that Durant may not get there simply because he's on his 3rd season and is young and raw.

I think a talented scorer like Durant who has a green light to score or shoot at will is very much capable of doing it this year. We've seen less talented scorers like Bobby Jackson and Willie Burton drop 50 points in an NBA game.

Last yr when Kobe scored 61, it was the first game post-Bynum injury. With Pau out for tonite, and prolly the next 2-3 games (hamstring injury) as well from what i've heard, and with ron-ron still struggling offensively, this is his best opportunity early on in the season to go for 60+ :D

KBfrom8to24

Nobody and I mean nobody will ever break that record. Same goes with Wilt's 55 rebounds in a game

Because Wilt played in an era, where he is the tallest and the biggest player back then. What happens when a man played against the boys? No challenge...
But if Kobe played in Wilt's era, he will surely break every Wilt's record. In contrast, if Wilt is playing today, he's lucky if he could average 25 points, 12 boards a game.

Hey, homer, why don't you put in some input instead of putting down useless two letter responses. Kevin Martin is the best in the NBA, yeah, that's right, best in the NBA at getting to the free throw line. He can have a night where he goes 22-23 from the line and goes 7-11 from 3 and make up the remainder in 2 pt shots. I mean I know if any discussion is against Kobe, I lose..... but this is where "no" just doesn't cut it. Put down some input instead of shutting down someone's opinion.

Im sorry.

I think the extra defensive pressures will be too much for kevin martin once he reaches 40 pts or something at one point in a game. strategy and all that stuff comes into the play. The thing about being a great offensive player is not only being taleneted enuf to drop big numbers on opponents, but being able to adjust ur game offensively when the other team adjusts their game defenisvely against u. not saying he can't do it, but he's so young and he hasn't come across that bridge where he's had to adjust his game offensively in the middle of a game according to how the defense adjusts. kobe, wade, lebron have track records of being able to adjust and overcome defenses to reach that 50 pt + milestone in one game.
