Why not

Tyrus has shown improvment so far and could average a double double, and Baron has no where to go but up after that awful awful awful year.

Jermaine O'Neal looks really good, but idk if he can be most improved because he was once nasty. Beasley is a pretty good choice as well.

But my pick is Jeff Green, he is gonna tear it up this year.

A lot of guys could win this thing... if AI can drop 30+ppg, 7+apg and 2+spg in 40mins off the bench, while the Grizz make playoffs, AI could win MVP, SMOY and MIP all in one shot!

Never gonna happen, but fun to think about lol.

Iggy?? The guy averaged 18.8pts, 5.3asst and 5.7 boards last year. he has a 0% chance of winning MIP.

And no need for the Rose hate. But if you want to be a smartass i'd say Rose has a better chance (once he gets healthy) of getting the award over Iggz.

I'm calling it right now; when JJ Redick gets quality minutes on w/e team he plays for (plays behind Carter on the Magic), he will win MIP that season.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

He will never win MIP because all he does is shoot... Most players that win MIP improve every statistical aspect of their game, scoring, rebounding, passing, defense, FG% etc. He can score when he gets minutes, but will always be overlooked for the award because there will be players that improve in more than one dimension (unless he goes from averaging like 5 PPG to 20+ PPG).

Coming into tonight, Redick avged 11ppg, 3rpg and 3apg... hardly call that just shooting. Tonight he played significant minutes, as well as a significant role and he dropped 27pts, 6rebs, 5asts and a stl. This season he improved every statistical category so far; his scoring is up, rebounding, passing, defense, FG%, 3PT%, FT%, you name it.

Give him minutes in a system that works for him (ie. Phoenix) and the boy can deliver, trust me.

Come on man... That's over THREE games. If he can give you that kind of production over an entire season, by all means give him MIP but it ain't happening...

Channing Frye seems so flukey to me. I just don't see him continuing this play. Luol Deng is back to his old form but he wouldn't win this. Joakim Noah,Martell Webster were the 2 that came to mind first.

Ask SVG who his second best perimeter defender is. He'll say JJ. JJ is also in tremendous shape, and his athleticism is actually pretty surprising. He's not just a shooter, not at all. He's passing the ball amazingly well. He penetrates a lot, and is great at creating shots for other guys. Remember him chasing, and shutting down Ray Ray in the playoffs? He can ball.

He's gonna get 20-25 minutes a game. He wont win the MIP, but he'll silence a few of the haters this year. His overall game is a lot better than it was when he first came in the league. A LOT better.

I think 13/3/3 is definitely easily attainable from him.

That's my point, he can't give that type of production over the course of a full season because he'll play behind Carter this season. Watch the Detroit game, if Carter doesn't play, Redick will surprise the **** out of you with an all-around performance. Redick can be a solid role player in Orlando, but only in significant amount of minutes will he put up great all-around numbers.

Andray Blatche!

Last season: 10ppg, 6rpg, roughly 2 turnovers a game on 47% shooting
This season: 21ppg, 7rpg, 1 TO per on 72% shooting

NASTY!

But he won't keep this up with Jamison coming back soon. If he does, he deserves it by far. Averaging more then 10ppg, a rebound, one less turnover and upping his fg% by alot deserves him the award.

yea i think there's going to be a lot of contenders for the MIP award. I don't think Andray Blatche or JJ Redick is going to win though. They're both good players but they're stuck behind better players. as such...they can't playing time they need to put up good numbers. especially Andray Blatche...he's very frustrating to people who play fantasy basketball. he'll put up great numbers for a few games everytime Jamison gets injured but than they dropped dramatically when Jamison comes back and you get frustrated because you just dropped a good player for Andray Blatche and someone else already picked up your good player

but yea...i think the MIP is going to be between Frye, Aaron Brooks, and Trevor Ariza. Brooks averaged 11 pts and 3 assists last year and this year, he's averaging 21 pts and 8 assists so far. Ariza is averaging 23 pts on 50% shooting...a big jump from 8 ppg last year. Frye is averaging 19 pts this year and that's a gigantic jump from 4 pts the year before. In the end, however, i think Frye is going to win it because i think both Brooks' and Ariza's numbers are going to drop when Tmac comes back in November.

Tmac will probably be traded, I see Ariza as the MIP if he can keep it up for the whole season. Frye, Randolph, Morrow, Brooks, etc will all be solid, but their statistical improvement is minimal compared to Ariza's.

Btw the Redick prediction is for the future, for when Redick is traded to another team that he could get significant minutes/role on.
