Should be two good games. I'm pretty high on the Bulls, will be interesting to see how they do vs. a top 5 team. The second game should be a great match up too.

It'll be interesting to see how the Bulls match up against us. Rose and Parker should go at each other...but George Hill may be the key since he is best suited to guard Rose. Chicago will have to shoot a very high percentage, because they lack an interior presence.

Two really interesting games tonight. Can't wait to get my first look at Denver and Portland this season, Denver should be great this season and Portland could be, depending on how the Andre Miller situation moves along.

Yes, he is playing but he is not 100%, Vinny will watch his minutes and see how he plays. He might limit him to like 24 minutes - especially since we have another game tomorrow as well (against Celtics).

Let's see if the Nuggets can win on a back-to-back after Utah choked in the 4th quarter last night, and I like the Spurs over the Bulls, even though they might be vulnerable cuz their coming off of a back-to-back.

The Nuggets are in for a tough test tonight. Blazers are a hell of a team and the Nuggets had a long travel night. Nene may not play due to a pulled calf muscle.

Who will the Nuggets bring off the bench behind Chris Andersen and Kenyon Martin?

'Melo at the 4 might not be too bad. He should be able to compete with LaMarcus Aldridge, I don't think Portland have anyone at PF who they can really beat him up with.

I've missed most of this game (fell asleep :o). Should be a great one in Portland though. The crowd there is usually really good, plus it's a divisional game, plus it's two really good teams.

Looking like a big win for the Bulls, I wonder how they get on tomorrow night against the Celtics...

So it turns out the Nuggets aren't missing a front court guy after all...

Why are they starting Anthony Carter at SG instead of Arron Afflalo? Is he hurt?

Kakaroach
10-29-2009, 10:58 PM
No, its cuz Billups is very good at SG as the Jazz found out last night.

It does seem like Coach Karl holds that Nuggets team back sometimes. I'm not a huge fan of Anthony Carter, but if Kakaroach is right about Chauncey playing well at SG, it doesn't sound like such a bad idea to play Carter while JR is suspended.

Meanwhile, Brandon Roy :speechless:

I don't know. Oden's offense is coming along, and he's a much better rebounder than Kwame. They both play pretty strong defense.

It's taken Pau and Andrew out of the game in the past, but Pau has shown a lot of improvement in dealing with it since he came to LA. I expect Andrew to this season, it's been difficult for him since the first injury but he's fully healthy now.

It's things like this why I'm so high on Denver this season. With having Chauncey around for a full training camp and the Western Conference Finals run last season, they know exactly what it takes to win. They also still have some young players, and Carmelo has always been clutch.

Nene showed some great hustle there.

The only thing that can hold them back is if Coach Karl gives Afflalo's or Lawson's minutes to Anthony Carter...

I'm impressed by the Nuggets beating Utah and then having to travel up to play a rested Portland team.

They could be the 3 seed though I still like Portland and San Antonio to be 2/3 or 3/2

I'm still not sold on San Antonio getting the 2nd seed. Keeping all their veterens healthy, fresh and rested for the play-offs is going to be much more important to them than seeding - they can win on the road in the play-offs as long as they're healthy.

I see the 2/3 spots going to Denver and Portland, in any order. Utah should compete up there as well, but the seeding system might drop them to the 5th spot.

Oh dear. Don't count out Brandon Roy with a second left though.

I can't believe that after I said how much I like them, the Nuggets stopped scoring, and Carmelo and Billups missed shots (especially Billups' wide open attempt) :pity: :pity:

Still, 'Melo hits the big FTs...

Bust?

As a rookie he put up an 18.1 PER despite having no experiance and dealing with injury.

The only way he's a bust is if injuries linger (he's healthy now) or his foul trouble issues are not improved.

He's 21 years old....

PER is a pretty bogus stat.........anyone with a pair of eyes can see that he's not going to be a star in this league. He may be a serviceable big, which would be had he not been the #1 pick in the NBA draft. He looks like he's going to be a clumsy career 9 point and 10 rebound guy.........that's a bust as a #1 draft pick

JayW_1023
10-30-2009, 01:21 PM
^^^

That's a bit premature. Odens biggest problem is staying on the floor. If he can keep himself out of foul trouble...he has the package to make an impact. Big men always take longer tp develope...especially in this era where every big wants to play like a wing...the more traditional bigs have to adjust to a more wing based NBA and not vice versa, like in the old days.
