Cavs win 50+ and Lebron has the best stats in the nba and is the most dominating player throughout the regular season dropping 40+, 50+, triple doubles, game winners, etc......

while the Celtics and Magic of the east have 60+ wins (making Cavs 3rd in the East at best) while the Lakeshow has 60+ wins as well?

Do you think one of the big 3 in Boston could get consideration for MVP, or D-Howard with Orlando, or Kobe with the Lakeshow (if they get best record in the nba)

thoughts...

No. Especially not when they are concensus favorites to come out of the east and to have the best record.

You can get it on a team not expected to do much and you do better than not expected, but you won't get it when you do worse than you are expected to do.

No. The same cats that blew his horn last year are expecting greater things from him this year. More of the same won't do, if it only nets the 4th or 5th best win record in the league. He'll be just another great player on a subpar team.

Howard would win IMO, if the Magic win #1 or #2 (behind Boston), Dwight wins MVP. If the Lakers win the league's best record and Kobe has great numbers than Kobe wins it. No Celts player will win and if the Cavs aren't the #1 team again, Lebron doesn't win it either.

because voting for the MVP has made a clear shift to putting an emphasis on winning. It's no longer a simple individual award. To be the MVP, you've got to be individualy spectacular, while doing so on a championship level team. Just how it is...It's not sleeping on Wade's incredible talent, it's just the way the voting has shifted.

Your right, mvp voting has shifted. In the last few years, the MVP has come out of either the first or second seed. IMO it shouldn't be that way. The person who puts up the best stats should win it. I still believe D-Wade has a chance to get it though. Miami is a very young team with some good young players. If they improved so much last year, they can also improve this year. Im not saying their gonna be first or second seed. But i think D-Wade should get more respect and credit than most people give him.

Well the day Wade can win a significant amount of games (50+), I'm sure he'll be highly considered...

If the Cavs don't have one of the top records (top 2 or 3) and or the top record, he won't win the award no matter what type of numbers he puts up. It's all about team success.

Yeah, the league never made Kobe the MVP when he scored 81 or when he scored 50 per game for 4 games

LeBron may win MVP if Kobe gets injured and misses the rest of the season.

Injuries and/or record will most likely be the only thing stopping LBJ from getting mvp. Dwade has exp this Kobe did a few years ago, if the record is not good enough no shot at the mvp

IT will be hard for Kobe or D Howard to get the MVP because they have such an amazing supporting cast(Pau, Artest, Bynum or Lewis, Carter, Nelson)

What I remember hearing from most sports analyst that had a vote in the last two years worth of MVP voting was that the consensus would be the lame award would go to the best player on the team with the best record in the league ala LBJ last year.
