How some elite teams have started off in the past 25 years .....

In 1985 the Lakers started 0-2 and they were 3-5 and ended 62-20 and won the title
In 1991 the Bulls started 0-3 and were 6-6 and ended 61-21 and won the title
In 1998 the Bulls started 8-7 and ended 62-20 and won the title
In 2001 the Lakers started 3-3 and ended 56-26 and won the title
In 2006 the Heat started 10-10 and ended 52-30 and won the title
In 2007 the Mavs started 0-4 and ended 67-15 while the Suns started 1-5 and ended 61-21
In 2009 the Magic started 0-2 and ended 59-23

Why is everyone all over Cleveland because they lost the first game of the year at home to a championship caliber team?

A tall glass of haterade mixed with jealousy.

I think the crappiest a championship team has ever started was 14-28 or something

Anyone who is panicking about the Cavs is crazy. I'll admit, I've never been a fan of this supporting cast...still...but, they'll start to gel a lot better, and start racking up the wins. As long as they have LeBron, they'll be fine.

Because they look like they still don't have a game plan. Just give it to LBJ and let him dribble around for a while and make a move.

Who was that? That would have to had been a team in the 50's.

This. A team has to have more of a gameplan this if they actually want to fight for the Eastern Conference crown and the Finals

But yes, after 1 game is wayy to early to begin panicking

People love it when a team who has been hyped up so much in the offseason loses one game, but they don't look past the fact that it's ONE game... A lot of fans from the other contenders are acting as if this one loss will determine the entire season. The Cavs always start slow (1-2 last season), Shaq needs to get acclimated to the offense (as does Moon and Parker). People love to have a reason to hate a contender.

Some of those stats are pretty amazing... I forgot that the Mavs started 0-4 and finished 67-15... 67-11 over their last 78 games :speechless:

All of the other contenders have atleast 2 guys that can take a game over and 2 or 3 players that will drop 20 points on a consistent basis.

Cleveland is a one man show, Lebron is that good but it takes more than one man to win a championship. How many games do you honestly think the cavs would win with out lebron?

All of the other contenders have at least 2 guys that can take a game over and 2 or 3 players that will drop 20 points on a consistent basis.

And a couple of the Elite teams have 2 or 3 guys that can drop 40 points on you, all within the normal flow of their offense.

What concerns people about the Cavs is that they expected some dramatic changes/improvement with Shaq added to the mix. Don't worry, they'll figure it out. And even if they don't, the rest of the league is so watered down that the Cavs can sleep walk with one leg chained to a bowling ball and still make it to a top 5 playoff seeding in the East.

So you don't think the Cavs are contenders...

LeBron, Shaq and Mo can all give you 20 any given night.

You know what I mean. Shaq and Mo are not on the same leval as guys like KG, Ray Allen, Sheed, Gasol, Artest, Odom (Maybe even Bynum), Vince Carter, and Rashard Lewis.

The Celtics, Lakers, and Magic all have their franchise players in Pierce, Kobe, and Howard, but they have way better players around them than Lebron does. Shaq and Mo wouldn't be the 3rd best player on any of the 3 teams I mentioned.

It's one game. And they still almost won. Integrating Shaq is a big deal as they now have a post presence who can score. They'll find a rhythm and be fine.

Yeah, but you're forgetting the best player in the world who is LeBron James. I'm not saying LeBron is better than all of them combined, but even though I hate him, he's just unstoppable.

Yeah, fair point... But LeBron is a better "franchise player" (or number 1 option) than all the other guys you mention. He more than makes up for it.

I don't think the team the Cavs have right now can win the East. I do think they will trade Big Z for another Star quality player to put them over the top.

And even more people will be discrediting the Cavs now that they are 0-2.

just fire mike brown and hire a coach who will make the cavs run.

Bad idea. You got Shaq and Big Z on that team, that team would be much worse and give up more than 50 points a game in the paint.
