If you were the owner of the 31st NBA expansion team...

What city would you like to represent?
What would you name it?
Who could you possibly draft out of the 30 NBA teams who can protect 8 of their players to build your roster (pick 1 player out of the 30 NBA teams who doesn't seem to be on their top eight)?

Predict your record for the team you built and what its ranking will be depending on which conference its at.

Liverpool Sasquatches- yes I would like the idea of an expansion into Europe....its long overdue...these guys travel all the time anyway.

as for the team
Starting Five:
PG - Daniel Gibson-Cle
SG - Mo Evans-Atl

C - DeAndre Jordan-Lac

bPG - Ty Lawson-Den or Dee Brown-Free agent (i'm an illini fan)
bSG - Nick Young-Was

Former Players turned Coaches: assuming this would have to be in 2-3 seasons due to logistics:
Juwan Howard and Tim Thomas as Assistants
Derek Fisher as Head Coach
Eric Snow as General Manager
Jerry West as VP of Basketball Operations
Joanna Krupa as personal assistant

Not very good for 5 seasons just like every other expansion team we would rely heavily on the Draft..

2012 Draft: #1 some stud out of Oak Hill Academy that played at UNC for one Season
2013 Draft: #5 flying slasher from a Pac 10 school: probably arizona
2014 Draft: #14 just missed the playoffs: traded down to get a Veteran like George Hill-Sas..draft a project from Africa that only saw a basketball for the first time on the plane ride over the mediterranean (because im in europe)

Ill stop now....first season record 13-69

There's enough free agent's to build a couple of teams. Some of them are actually good free agents also. It sucks to just see them sit around and rot.

We need one more team in Los Angeles so I would call it Los Angeles Beaners.
I would only sign Najera, that's fine with me.

Hawaii Humuhumunukunukuapuaa's (Hawaii State Fish)
Play in Honolulu
Coach: Jeff Van Gundy

C: Javale McGee/Deandre Jordan/Chuck Hayes
PF: Craig Smith/DJ White/Dejuan Blair
SF: Travis Outlaw/Dajuan Summers/Joe Alexander
SG: Kelenna Azubuike/Mickael Pietrus/Tony Allen
PG: George Hill/Kyle Lowry/Keyon Dooling

I honestly think this team could be a playoff team immediately, especially with JVG coaching.
The PG depth is okay. George Hill and Kyle Lowry are both very young. Hill is a good scorer. Lowry is good all around, especially on defense and getting fouled. Dooling is older but brings experience and is a good scorer and passer.
The SG depth is very good. 3 players who could start in the NBA. Kelenna Azubuike is a great scorer, Pietrus is a great defender and Tony Allen is good all around.
The SF depth is pretty good. Travis Outlaw is a good scorer and defender but then behind him are 2 unexperienced players. Dajuan Summers is a small forward in a power forwards body. Hes a big boy and likes to take it down low. Joe Alexander is a good scorer but hasn't proved himself quite yet.
The PF depth is very good. Craig Smith is undersized and underrated. He averaged 10pts off the bench last year for Minnesota, getting limited play time behind Kevin Love. He needs work on rebounding though. DJ White is bigger and also averaged 10pts last year for a young team off the bench. He is a better rebounder than Smith, averaging 5rebs per game last season. Dejaun Blair is 6-7 but is already a great rebounder. He is a lot like Charles Barkley.
The center depth is below average. Three players who are all good back ups but not good starters. Javale McGee averaged 7-4 last season as backup for Washington. Deandre Jordan averaged 4-5 as 3rd string center last season for LAC. Chuck Hayes is 6-6 but he is one of the best post defenders in the NBA. Who cares about how many points he scores cause he'll probably have the same as his opponent.

PS: If this were a team, wouldnt it be great to see a line up of Hayes, Blair, Summers, Lowry cause they all have the same body. Round. They're all like balls of muscle.
