I didn't know Kobe was picked that far in the draft who was picked higher than him?

A lot of big names; 1996 turned out to be one of the best draft classes the NBA has ever seen. It produced three future league MVP's, Iverson, Nash and Bryant (Four MVP's combined) as well as two future DPOY; Camby and Ben Wallace (Five combined DPOY titles).

It also included its fair share of NBA All-stars; Shareef-Abdur Rahim, Marbury, Ray Allen, Antoine Walker, Peja, Jermaine O'neal, and Big Z.

The team that drafted him (the Charlotte Hornets) traded him that same day...for Vlade Divac...I bet they kicked themselves a number of times for that :p

But yeah '96 was a fantastic draft, as Bruno showed...

LeBron should not be here until he learns how to act maturely.

He makes one immature mistake and now he isn't a high school phenom?

No not really, they wanted Kobe, but Kobe was being a douche and said he wouldn't play for them, LA offered them Vlade and they took it. Don't get me wrong, I was thrilled lol, but blaming the Hornets for Kobe's selfishness is still wrong.
