That's too funny, you caught that, Mavs 8th seed. I just put it that way to see if you specifically would catch it, I was just joking, your Mavs team will be pretty good, 4 or 5 seed is what I figure, I cant have them any higher (need the Blazers to have the better record for sig bet).

Glad you didnt get mad it was really only a joke. Let's get this season rolling already, good luck this yr.

Whats wrong with that? Miami finished 5th last year so i see no reason why they cant finish 4th. the Mavs really werent that good last year anyway and are on the decline. i think the 6 teams i have above them are all better. and now that chauncey is in his first full season with the Nuggets and the way they performed in the conference finals last year yes I think they are better than the spurs.

OK, lets look at this in detail.

The Nuggets potentially got worse with the losses of Dhantay Jones and Linas Kleiza and gain of only a career bench warmer in Afflalo and 1st round draft pick Jeff Teague.

The Spurs (3rd seed last year, despite an injured Ginobili missing over 30 games) had the same record last season. The Spurs have arguably upgraded their roster the most out of all contenders with the additions of Jefferson, McDyess, and Blair.

Dallas (6th seed last year, despite an injured Josh Howard for 30 games) was only 4 games from being the 2nd seed last season. Dallas gains 4 time all-star and special defensive player Shawn Marion, Drew Gooden, Tim Thomas, defensive specialist Quinton Ross, and first round draft pick Rodrigue Beabouis.

Behind San Antonio, Dallas arguably had the second best summer, maybe even first best if chemistry clicks with Howard playing the 2.

How in the hell can you have a team that was 4 games from being the second seed last season to being the 7th seed after improving more than the Jazz, Hornets, Suns, Nuggets, etc.? You really have no reasoning except for obvious hatred over the team. If you want to talk about decline then take a close look at the Spurs, being arguably the oldest team in the league.

As far as Miami goes, I don't see them being any more than 6th in the west if healthy. They havn't improved as much as the other contending east playoffs teams (Indiana, Charlotte, Toronto, etc.) They're also a very injury prone team (Wade, Haslem, O'neal) and havn't Beasley hasn't really lived up to his hype yet. If Miami can stay completely healthy and click defensively then yes they can be a 5th seed in the east behind the Hawks, but I just don't see everything falling perfectly into place.

Lebron James will repeat as League MVP, and Kobe Bryant will repeat as Finals MVP. That's all you need to know.
