View Full Version : Bosh rumour to GSW recycled again

Fresno

Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh(notes) is always mentioned as part of the four-headed soon-to-be-free-agent monster that will hit the NBA next summer. The other three heads, of course, belong to LeBron James(notes), Dwyane Wade(notes), and Amare' Stoudemire. The general consensus is that James and Wade will end up back on the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat, respectively. But Bosh and Stoudemire? Who knows?

Well, word is coming now that Bosh could be traded soon enough to the Golden State Warriors to play out this season before free agency. The Toronto Sun is reporting that four-time All-Star Bosh could be moving to California in exchange for Andris Biedrins(notes) and others.

Wouldn't make any sense at all for the team to have traded for Turk and Evans, signed Jack etc. if they were just going to rebuild.

I wouldn't mind at all because I don't think they have enough as is to contend, but would be a backwards step after several forwards steps.

BC isn't that stupid to trade him.

But I'd do the trade if it was Ellis, Beidrins and Randolph for Bosh, Banks and Douby.

Halladay
10-12-2009, 06:04 PM
Wouldn't really make sense at this point. BC did just about everything he could this off-season to convince Bosh to stay. Bringing in Jack was a over-looked move, not only is he a good player, he's a close friend of Bosh's.

Anthony Randolph is the starting power forward. Bosh and him are clones, and Bosh is a free agent next year. Unless they are trying to dump Biedrins salary, this deal will never happen.

Some journalist said the trade "might" happen. Is he the GM? Does he run the team?

I "might" win a million dollars. I just bought a lottery ticket.

Do you guys think I should put a down payment on a Ferrari? I'm pretty sure I'm going to win. /irony

Just another old rumour getting recycled.

Yes!!!! and i hope they trade that new sg too to gs.

this way i can laugh at people faces when THIS team:

Calderon, Bellinelli, Turkoglu, Bargni, BIedrns.

makes the plofs withtout a single american starter

If this happens it doesnt mean that Bosh will stay in GS for the next 5 years. He probably does not want to be there, heck I dont think any basketball player wants to play there.

I recently thought Toronto would probably be better off with a true center instead of Bosh. I think a Bargs/Biedrins frontcourt would work better then a Bosh/Bargs..

Thts a reason why i think tht illgauskas will be a cav if they tade biedrins. CB4 for Biedrins. And then Jackson for Illgauskas

Read on the Warriors forum that they switched their 2010 pick with NJ. He was assuming it was for a trade.

As a Raptor fan I would accept this for Bosh

Toronto trades {Bosh 15.6mil, Banks 4.5mil} -20.1mil

for {Beidrins 9mil, Claxton's exp 5.2mil, Curry 2.7mil, GS 2010, Cavs 2010, 2nd & 3mil cash} -16.9mil

GS trades {Beidrins 9mil, Jacksons 7.6mil, Curry 2.7mil, 2010 pick} -19.3mil

for {Bosh 15.6mil, Ilguaskas 11.5mil} 27.1mil in expirings + moving a malcontent if Bosh doesn't resign

Cavs trade {Ilguaskas 11.5mil, 2010 pick, 2nd round pick & 3mil cash} -11.5mil

for {Jackson 7.6mil, Banks 4.5mil} -12.1mil

Beidrins/Rasho/POB
Bargnani/Evans/Amir
Hedo/Wright/Weems
DeRozan/Belinelli/Douby
Calderon/Jack/Curry

GS 2010, Cavs 2010

Unless the Raps get some sort of unreal deal it's complete BS.

This is what I'm saying, people say the timing is not right & what not but if the Warriors approached BC with an offer he cannot refuse because of the Curry/Monta situation & the recent Jackson suspension.

quote:

"Speculation is out there now that Jackson's cursefest was premeditated and that he was hoping it would lead to a suspension, according to the San Jose Mercury News. If that's true, he certainly got his wish. The word is that the Warriors don't want him to ever play for the team again and will go ahead and take a bad trade just to get rid of him"

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Warriors-rsquo-Jackson-was-looking-for-team-sus;_ylt=AlNv9F8LypJC2pyO7_RPrZW8vLYF?urn=nba,1953 48

This rumor is on the heels of the Jackson suspension, maybe it forced GS to make an offer BC couldn't/can't refuse or atleast consider?

Keep in mind there was an offer at the trade deadline that BC had turned (not the ESPN rumored one) down, maybe they r giving him what he wants with their players recent actions

Bosh would definitely leave in 2010 if he got traded to GSW

as long as Nellie is the coach that franchise is a black hole for careers

Agree but I think this move is to get ticket sales for this season under the current owner & expiring next season for a new owner.

In my opinion GS is more interested in Amare anyway & will probably push for him in the offseason, if they move Beidrins for Bosh they will have enough for a max contract if Bosh doesn't resign.

Question: Who thinks Bosh is worth max money?

I think paying Bosh max money will hinder any teams development unless they have Wade, Lebron, Kobe or Dwight Howard allready on their roster. So far he has proven that he cannot carry a team on his own.

Lets hear some logical arguments one way or the other. No more of these passionate raptor fan claims that the raps will never trade Bosh cause hes the franchise. That is not logical i.e. franchise players have and do get traded, especially in contract years if it looks like they wont resign. Better to get something than nothing...

I think getting Beidrins and Monta is more than a fair trade. I'm sure a lot of GSW fans view Ellis as their franchise player.

Two things:

1. very few Raptors fans think Bosh is worth max. money

2. the rumour that started this thread is just an old rumour recycled. Bryan Colangelo isn't going to break up the roster he just built around Bosh. The timing is completely wrong for anything like this to happen. This is just fantasy league thinking ...

Don P.Belasario
10-13-2009, 11:00 AM
I'm not convinced the roster is built around Bosh. If anything it is just as much built around Bargs. i.e. Why keep Bargs and not trade for a true center who compliments Bosh's mid-long range game? eg. someone like Bynum.

I think Bryan has prepared the team if Bosh exits to still be very competive. The timing isn't great and the rumour does seem like fantasy stuff, but stranger things have happened...

I think there are a lot of raps fans on this forum who would be willing to give Bosh anything as long as he promises to stay. See some of the arguments for why we can never trade him on the raps forum regarding the trade to GSW that has been closed.

The bottom line is bosh will not resign with the raptors because he would have already resigned or received an extension if he wasnt gonna test the market. So the raptors imo are in not in a position to ask for the world in return for him. If he tests the market then i guarantee next year, with all the money that is going to be thrown around, he will sign with someone else.
