It was a busy offseason for the league's General Managers, but before they sat back and watched their players and coaches go to work, NBA.com asked the GMs to fill out our eighth annual GM Survey.

Can the Lakers repeat for the seventh time in their history, will the Celtics capture banner No. 18, or will Shaq help the King get his ring? Will LeBron James earn another MVP award, and if you were putting together an NBA franchise, is he the player you'd most like to start with?

Schuhmann: Magic get no respect in survey

Those are just a few of the 60 questions NBA general managers responded to. See how their opinions compare to yours and if they got it right a year ago.

General managers were not permitted to vote for their own team or personnel. Percentages are based on the pool of respondents to each question of the survey, rather than all 30 GMs. The NBA.com GM Survey was compiled by John Schuhmann.

i think what's funnier is that someone thought a lakers fan on this site is actually capable of that.

i think Jason Kaponos should be the best pure shooter but obviously Ray Allen is a million times more of a complete player

only one that should matter is "which player does the most with the least?"

how does kobe get 2nd for both "toughest player" and "best leader"?
dude gets a bandage on his finger and hes all the sudden tough? he also puts down his team mates and demands to be traded and hes a good leader now!?!?!?!?

young Kobe fans, young Laker fans who don't understand cuz they very innocent. they have yet to go thru that maturation process. nothing bad, its just the nature of being a human being and just maturing and understanding certain things.

and then therez laker/kobe fans like me who just enjoy seeing how others respond to certain posts ;)

trust me, a lot of crap is said about kobe and the lakers, but i kno most of it is either by jealousy (all part of human nature in the world of sports), or other fans trying to push laker fans' button (which i understand is all in fun, and its what PSD is and should be about)

never said he was, and you probably wont ever see me defend the guy like hes my man crush, like some lakers fans defend kobe.

dont get me wrong, i like kobe, i personally think hes the 2nd best to ever play the game behind mj (and will stay at 2nd), but this 'tough player' and 'best leader', has not one bit of truth to it. i would put d fish as the leader of the lakers before kobe....

Nah man. A lot of Lakers fans on this site are like Jordan's acceptance speech. they try to use any angle possible as "hate" or "motivation," which gets so over-the-top and ridiculous sometimes. The problem is just that a lot of Lakers fans act really, really sensitive about their team and their (singular) player.

There's way less "crap said about the Lakers" and way more criticism that Lakers fans take way too closely to the heart like it's a personal attack.

& trust me when i say I'm not jealous of Lakers fans, or Magic fans, or Cavs fans, or anyone else. There are way more important things to worry about.

Don't worry about the immature boys. No one in here said that guy did not have a right to his opinion. Then, one of them have the nerve to quote Wikipedia . I just get sick of this forum attacking laker fans because not all of them are like what they described. There are some objective laker fans on this site. They just come off being *******s to me by calling out the whole lakers fan base. Anyway, back to the thread, I think these are some cool stats by the GMs. Although. I thought Devin Harris should have been the quickest player with the ball. I also thought Shane Battier should have received player with the highest IQ. Those the only two I disagreed with.

I'm sorry I'm not trying to be a homer or nothing but there is a couple of people that got left out from phoenix. Like most athletic I would put amare in front of josh smith. The best shooter is nash also he has to be one of the toughest. Nash is in the top 5 in charges not to mention when he busted his nose in a game and still played.

whenever I see a thread that ko8e24 made I always know that Kobe or the Lakers will be number 1 on some lists or all of them or the Lakers will be mention

Q: "Which player does the most with the least?"
A: Your favorite white/European player.

That's what it seems like.

Why is Kobe 2nd on the toughest player and 2nd on the best leader? I guess by toughest they mean back down when people get in your face and cry to the refs when your team doesnt get its way. And by best leader they mean demand trades, insult your team, and be selfish.

Hmm i think i got it.
