He's not in the top ten, but definitely amongst the top 15 players in the league. He lacks a consistent enough effort on defense/rebounding to be in the top ten. He's a top power forward. Top Power forwards are Duncan, KG, Dirk, Bosh, Gasol and Amare.

I would have to have him top 10. This man did this in the playoffs against Tim Duncan

Amare in the 2005 playoffs against Duncan in the WCF put these numbers up
41
37
34
31
42

He averaged 37 ppg in that series. Only other current players to average that much in a playoff series were Shaq in 2000 and Lebron against Orlando.

Here are his career playoff numbers

Amare's career playoffs thus far

Games 36 / 25.1 ppg / 10.4 rpg / 1.9 bpg / 1.1 spg / 52% FG / PER 25.0

And here are his career season numbers.

For the Season here are the numbers for:
Amare
21.1 ppg / 8.9 rpg / 1.5 bpg / 0.9 spg / 54% FG / PER 22.6

You wouldn't take dirk, bosh or a healthy Yao over him?

i forgot dirk. im definitely taking dirk over amare, but never bosh and well yao is injured this season, so he's out of my list.

As JB showed, his stats go up in the play-offs, which is a great sign for any player. On the other hand, his defense is just so bad, and that hurts him in this sort of discussion. I'd definately say top-15 though.

I think Amare could be a top ten player, maybe even top 5, if he could consistently channel whatever led to those ridiculous performances against TD and bring the effort every night. Right now? I hesitate to even put him in the top 15 because he's not a leader and he doesn't come to play every night, despite having all the tools.

amare is not a top 5 calibre player. his success relies so much on steve nash.

Top 15 or Top 10. He's in there. I'd rather take a healthy Amare then Dirk as of now.

Who said top 3?

Like I said, top 20 but he can be top 10 but he needs to show that he can do more than score.

top 15 at best

He's incredibly talented, but comes off as "me first" and is not very good defensively. Regardless, I'd say he's a top 15-20 range player.

kobe, wade, cp3, lebron, howard, gasol, duncan, dirk, melo, roy

mmmm he is most definetly under.

C Paul, Deron Williams,Billups, Nash, TOny Parker, KObe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Brandon Roy, Kevin Durant, Danny Granger, Lebron James,Pierce, Melo, Td, Kg, Gasol, Bosh, Dirk, Healthy Ming, Al Jefferson.

So top 25 i guess

I misread the polled question but I think that Amare is a top 15 performer when he is healthy

No way in hell is Danny Granger, Tony Parker, Billups, Nash (now), Al Jefferson better than a healthy Amare.

Amare was the best player on those teams despite what anyone says. How the hell could Nash have been better than Amare on that team when Amare is the one averaging 37 ppg in the playoff series.
