Deron Williams should definately make it this year. Al Jefferson should make it as well, especially with Yao and Shaq out of the picture.

The two guys that come to mind that deserve to make it for the first time are Deron Williams and Andre Iguodala. Iggy is one of the most complete players in the NBA, and it's a shame he's never made it.

Andre Igoudala-Philadelphia 76ers OKay
Ben Gordon-Detroit Pistons Off the bench?
Gerald Wallace-Charlotte Bobcats Maybe, but not likely.
Brook Lopez-New Jersey Nets I think Howard and Shaq have it.

Western Conference

LaMarcus Aldridge-Portland Trailblazers Too many other guys
Aaron Brooks-Houston Rockets Not for another 3-4 years, if that.
Rudy Gay or OJ Mayo-Memphis Grizzlies AI makes 1, never 2 from MEM
Emeka Okafor-New Orleans Hornets Never
Al Jefferson-Minnesota T-Wolves Biggest Snub last year, yes.

Iggy is my homer pick to get in.

we gotta see some of THIS......

http://video.yahoo.com/watch/4761526/12714124

.... in the allstar game. I love Danny Granger and Caron but they just dont do it for me excitement wise. Iggy is an amazing dunker (3rd in the NBA in dunks).

He stepped up in the playoffs (averaging 21, 7 and, 7 and a game winner) against the Orlando Magic.

He is a great/ extremely underrated passer (3rd amongst SF in apg last year).

And he is one of the top perimeter defenders in the league.

get this guy in the allstar game and u wont be dissapointed.

You remind me of the guy who told me Tmac would never be an All-Star when he signed that huge deal with the Magic.

Trust me bro, Anyone with a deep understanding of how the game works, knows Bynum will become an all-star. The only way he doesnt is if his knees are wrecked, but hes too young to be at that stage.

He should be an all-star caliber player as early as next season, whether he makes the team or not, you never know with these things as they are based heavily on popularity.

Its a shame Deron has never made the team because hes an all-star CALIBER player, but hes never been screwed.

Its his own fault for not performing as well as he does after the AS break, at start of the season. Be it injuries or lack of conditioning, its not getting screwed over.

There are many out their who deserve to be out their. Here are a couple I thought of right out of mind:

Rudy Gay
Turks
BIG AL (I swear if he gets passed up this year...)
Bynum (Depends...)
Odom (I know he will not be chosen, but he is one of those border-line players)
DERON (Read comment on BIG AL)

i dont think the gap between AB and DWill is that far..specially since houston wont have their 'big 3' from a year ago..
Okafor is going to improve playing with Paul..and I think Mayo has more all-star potential then Rudy

Durant is hype

How can you say what has rudy gay done? Isnt he only in his 2nd or 3rd year not to mention he plays for the grizzlies, not until now(thanks to ai) no one in memphis even got recognition for the all star team(as far as i can remember)...and the whole thing with d will not making it yet is because like someone said its based on popularity and off the top of my head chris paul and steven nash are more popular then him and you got your 2 pg spots right there...

because unfortunately the NBA doesnt necessarily go by true position, they all count as "guards"...even then though, there's some good competition in the West...

Parker
Nash
B Diddy (he's due for a comeback year)
Billups
Iverson
Paul

with that said, i do think he'll make it this year

If he isn't hurt, he has a chance. He's looked good in the small amounts he's played the past two years, but a lot will depend on if he can get out of December or not (playing that is)

Yao Ming is out in the west, and Shaq went east, so there will be two new centers on the western all-star team. Maybe Tim Duncan will be balloted as a center.

SG - Kobe Bryant, Brandon Roy, Allen Iverson
SF - Carmello Anthony, Kevin Durant, Ron Artest
PF - Tim Duncan, Amare Stoudemire, LaMarcus Aldridge

East All-Stars:

PG - Derrick Rose, Devin Harris, Rajon Rondo
SG - Dwayne Wade, Vince Carter, Joe Johnson
SF - LeBron James, Paul Pierce, Danny Granger
PF - Chris Bosh, Kevin Garnett, Josh Smith

The only times you'll see all four of those guys in Dallas will be twice during the Lakers-Mavs games this season, possibly a few more if the Mavs finish 8th.

Kobe is a lock, Gasol is likely, Bynum is a longshot (Duncan/Amare will probably be put on the center ballot and Big Al and Oden will be the likely backups) and Artest is a no.
