Just a side note...Josh Smith is a great help defender (help blocker), but his one-on-one defense, and his team defense is not elite at all. No way should he ever win DPOY. Those blocks are great and all, but that's about all he provides on defense.

No. It's your opinion I guess. I just think he is a terribly overrated defender. People love his blocks, but fail to realize his team statistically is just as good with him on the court as they are with him off the court. It's 108.2 points per 100 possessions on the court vs. 108.5 points per 100 when he is off the court. Offensively, the team scores scores 4 more points per 100 possessions. He really just doesn't have a huge effect on the team's defense. My eyes tell me this more than stats. He doesn't buy into team defense.

Look at opponent PERs too. At PF, opponents have a PER of 19.7, way above the league average (15). Opponent C's have a PER of 21.4 (i Know that's not his position. Opposing SFs have a PER of 12, but he plays PF much more than SF. He really doesn't shut anyone down.

He's just a help blocker...

...In my opinion.

D12 already beat CP3 in MVP voting last season lol, so much for that argument.

If the Magic take the East; Kobe, Lebron and Wade better move on and try to oust Howard for the DPOY, because the MVP trophy will be out of reach.

Doesn't make a difference, no team will win 70+ this season, you can quote me on that. Kobe has WAY too much talent around him for him to get MVP. If he ain't dropping at least 28+ppg, 6+rpg and 6+apg while winning 70+ games, he ain't getting it. Lebron won it last season and would have to have a repeat performance (lead his team in every way statistically and win 65+ games) to get it again. Wade won't win MVP until his team can crack the "elite teams" list, while he goes for another career season.

I still stand by my statement, if Orlando wins the East, ousting Boston and Cleveland for #1, you can bet your *** Dwight Howard will be League MVP, book it.
