NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York Knicks have signed free agent guard Sun Yue.

Team president Donnie Walsh announced the deal on Thursday without disclosing terms.

The 6-foot-9, 205-pound Sun averaged 0.6 points, 0.2 assists and 2.8 minutes as a rookie last season.

The Lakers selected the 23-year-old native of Hebei, China, in the second round, 40th overall, of the 2008 draft.

He also played in the NBA Development League last season, averaging 9.8 points, 3.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds for the Los Angeles D-Fenders.

Sun started all six games for China at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Jokes aside, how is he getting signed by all the huge *** city market teams? First the Lakers, then the Knicks. If I was him, it'd probably be a dream come true to play and live in these cities, not to mention millions of dollars for doing nothing. Ahh what a sweet life.

Why do you think? With the big market teams having him, they add more viewers, and thus, buyers, to their fan base. The chinese are crazy about Basketball.

That said, I wish him well. A 6'9 PG is a crazy thing.

Maybe they were one of the few teams to offer him a job?

For Sun Yue, I think finding any team to stick with would be a dream come true.
