So we all know Houston may have over 17 players...18 if Ramos signs...
...and Barry and Cook will be gone. But the rumors are, we are going to lose Carl Landry or Shane Battier in a trade to get a shooting guard. I'm hoping that I'm wrong...but if I'm not...who is likely to go?

...I wish someone would just take a Barry-Cook-Dorsey deal.

The rockets might look to blow up this team.
Yao might come back this season. Tmac will be playing for one year and if he has a good season their is a 50/50 chance he will be shipped to a team trying to make a push and save some cash for 2010. Knicks, maybe.

Yao, Ariza, Scola, Brooks, Lowry, landry, battier - looks like their core and center of focus.
Someone has to go to cut players down to the max roster number. I doubt they will need a starting two, cause they need to go big anyways since Yao is down and scola might start the 5.
Brooks, Tmac, Ariza, Battier, Scola.

Why don't the Rockets trade a package of Battier, Scola, Barry and Cook to Utah for Boozer and Harpring (retiring)? Boozer would replace what Houston will miss from Yao in the post at least for a year, and if Booz stays in Houston after next summer, Yao & Booz would be the best post combo in basketball. Utah and Sloan would love Scola and Battier, and they'd save $3 million which is very important. Houston also gets to shed 3 roster spots: they send 2 more out than they get back and Harpring will retire.

Here is the trade: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=nw99s2

Utah also might be willing to add in Fesenko who is a center Houston could use: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=klphmu

Glad to see you here Lo!!! You posted just what I was thinking. Boozer, Fez and Harping for Scola and Battier and fillers. Utah would be awsome:
D-Will, Price, Maynor
Battier, Korver, CJ
Brewer, AK, Korver, CJ
Millsap, Scola, AK
Okur, Koufus Sutton

Improved Interior and premeter Defense, improved outside shooter, we'd have the best bench in the NBA. Utah becomes an instant tittle condender but I don't think Houston would go for it losing two core guys. Maybe include AK for T-mac?
