Not sure you can get any better than this line up =p. You can play HUGE or play small. You can play fast, or you can play slow. Every person plays above average defense for their position. Even Isiah Thomas couldn't screw this team up. Hell, you could even afford any 2 players to sit out on injuries and still win. No need for more than these 8 players =p.

What do you guys think?

Are you counting Roy/Millsap's contract from last year, or this coming year? Considering Roy's got a max, Millsap got 8M, Howard's got a max, LeBron's got a max... That's pretty much the cap right there.

Can you show the calculations? I'm interested, because that's 3 of the top 7 players in the NBA.

My Bad. I forgot Millsap got a new contract.

But Roy' contract doesn't start until 2011. Bron and Howard have 15mil

Here is my new lineup

C-Howard, Ratliff

He played PG in HS and Cavs actually considered playing him at PG but they got Eric Snow. They also don't want to give him more pressure so they put him at SF. But he has all the skills to play PG.

No need for more than these 8 players =p.

thanks, i wanted point guards who would look to distribute more rather than score because wade and al would be getting the most shots, plus they can play D and they can hit shots.

on paper they sure look like a championship team but taking other factors in consideration, like chemistry, shots distribution, i dont think its a good mix.

Lebron James-15.8/Kevin Durant-4.8
Brandon Roy-3.9/Courtney Lee-1.2/Rudy Fernandez-1.1
Derrick Rose-5.1/OJ Mayo-4.1/Rajon Rondo-2.6

This is a 14 man roster at 65 million dollars. They would win every championship for the next decade guaranteed. It would be the best basketball team in NBA history.

You can not form a better and deeper team for 65 million.

If I had another mill or so to fill the roster to a 15-man, I would add Wilson Chandler @ 1.2 mill.

1st overall pick is LBJ and the team will be built around him at the 3.

PG CP3 $13.5/ DRose $5 mil
SG Kevin Durant $5 mil/ D Rose
SF LBJ $16 mil/Ron Artest $5.5 mill
PF Luis Scola $3 mil/David Lee $2.5
C Al Jefferson $12 mil/ Spencer Hawes $2mil

Starters $49.5 mill, total $64.5 mill with half a mill to spare. This team will beat (on paper) all teams so far but I only have 9 players. Most teams have a 9 man or less rotation anyways however injuries would be scary. I would use the NBDL to pick up help if needed howver I considered durablility as well in my choices.

Wanted to make a team that could actually work out, without using loads of rookie contracts. Wanted to get a good mixture of size, athleticism, defense and shooting. Would have the best big man/little man one-two punch with Dwight and CP3 and the best player in the game with LeBron.

Got Battier to knock down the open looks and defend the opposing teams best perimeter player, the Kobe's, D Wades, Roy's, etc. and this would allow LeBron to play roaming defense, thats when he's at his strongest on that end.

Rasheed would be a fantastic stretch 4. Also one of the best defensive bigs who can match up with Garnett, Duncan, Stoudemire, Bosh etc. Also adds to a good mixture of experience and youth.

I don't think there would be many chemistry problems. Chris Paul is a pass first PG and Dwight would get alot of shots from off. rebounds and putbacks and working the pick & roll with LeBron and Paul. Rasheed Wallace seems content with coming off the bench for Boston so I don't think he'd have any problems. LeBron will get his 20 shots whoever he plays with.

I wanted a mixture of energy and hustle of the bench. Augustin is a great perimeter shooter who is extremely quick and can run the point solidly. The only problem is he is undersized, like Paul which could cause problems playing against bigger PG's like Billups, Kidd or Deron. Dahntay Jones is a defensive stopper, and Wilson Chandler is an energy player who can score in bunches. Leon Powe is an undersized, high energy banger and is great value for money when fit. DeAndre Jordan is a guy who would mature under the guidance of Dwight and Rasheed whilst playing back up minutes to the best C in the league.

I tried not to include too many rookies and actually spent a lot of time thinking this through!

Thanks, I put Sheed in to give Dwight some help guarding any elite bigs, which Maxiell could do but not to the degree Sheed can.

I also like his range. When playing with a dominant inside presence like Dwight you want a big that can stretch the floor.

He is a technical waiting to happen, but I think he could provide some good experience to an otherwise relatively young team.
