This needs to happen. So much money to be made. Hostile environment? Sure - but if the Thunder moved there two years ago? Forget about it - they would be rolling in dough right now. Durant would have been money there and for years to come. Someone needs to jump on this opportunity - maybe Memphis? It would bring them to a huge market and create big spending opportunities for them.

Wow I never thought of this. It would be such a good place to have a basketball team. Good post. I reckon get rid of Sacremento and introduce Las Vegas Vikings are something better.

I don't think the league wants the hassles of having a team in Vegas. Can you imagine the trouble a young, rich, carefree adult can have in a city like that. They would have to put at least 6 more cat houses in that city.

The Allstar break 'couple years ago pretty much killed the possibility of it

Cause all the players would either to be too sauced to play, develop gambling problems, or catch STIs from town hookers.

why isn't there any pro-sport teams in Las Vegas; the cloest thing to a team is the Blue Jays' farm club

Terrible idea and it would never happen. The last time the NBA was there, a man was paralyzed. Secondly, they would lose money and have to move shortly after moving there. No one would go watch a basketball game in Vegas, there's too much to do there besides that. People go to Vegas to gamble and to have a getaway, not to go watch sports. There is a reason there are ZERO sports teams there. Likewise, there is a reason it's called sin city.

Last time i recall, there are people living in Vegas. Not everyone that you see in Vegas is from outside of Vegas going on a vacation. I think Vegas residents would be happy to have an NBA team.

Where do people get the idea that Vegas is a big market? It would be the SMALLEST market.

There would be too many problems with players gambling and stuff like that. Every other week we would hear about how players went out for a night and spent thousands at the craps table and the strip club and then players would also be gettin' arrested for stuff. It would give the NBA a bad rep.

Liking a team cause they are always winning is the definition of a bandwagoner.

Hate yourself for not knowing what a bandwagoner is.

Didn't the NBA, along with every other major US sports league, sue the state of Delaware to block the legalization of sports betting there? Somehow I don't think they're moving into Vegas.
