Would the Mavericks be a better team? if so, how would you rank them in the West?

It depends. Are they running and gunning?

Because if they were, then yes. Dirk, Marion, Howard, Terry and Nash would destroy in a run and gun system.

Ye i agree with that 100%

They would be highly entertaining but I would still stick with Kidd. Even though he is old he is a better defender than Nash and a better half-court pg.

Yes, it would be a run and gun since they're going to utilize Steve Nash's skills

They will run and gun, so they'll be better, but in the playoffs they will still be inferior to the top teams in the West (LA/San Antonio). Nash can't play defense, which is why the run-and-gun suits him, but with all the firepower the team possesses they will fare quite well during the season.

Mark Cubans a DUmb*** if he was just gonna trade away harris for kidd in the first place, he should have just re signed nash.

And They would be better if they had nash instead of kidd. Nash is still the best offensive PG in the league. Kidd just isnt a great Pg anymore

That would be a deadly Mavs team, plain and simple!

PG: Steve Nash
SG: Josh Howard
SF: Shawn Marion
PF: Dirk Nowitzki
C: Drew Gooden
6th man: Jason Terry

Anything short of a championship would be a failure, there's just too much talent on that team.

Doesn't look so bad. If only the Cavs, Celtics, Lakers, Spurs and Magic didn't have better offseasons.

Anything better than the worst defensive team in the league would be a victory.

I don't know. The Mavericks would probably be more entertaining, but Kidd is definitely much better defensively. Nash is a much more pure offensive scorer than Kidd, but Dallas has plenty of scorers so they need defense and half court leader. Not saying Nash isn't a half court leader by any means though. It's a toss up.

i think kidd's value on defense is vastly overrated for the past 2 years

Did u see any suns games last season after Porter was fired? The suns led by nash run n gund as good as before, and that was with shaq in the middle and no amare.

Nash+Dirk used to play together and never really panned out as much as it did when it became Dirk's team. And the Suns were never great until it was Nash's team...

Leave them both as the leaders of their separate teams, Kidd isn't the best PG anymore (still solid tho)... but having Nash in Dallas would be taking a step back and having the worst defense in the history of basketball.

nash was better when he left and became "the guy" for phx kidd is a better role player and a better fit along side dirk forget about pg thats not the mavs problem you can win with kidd as your pg but not with damp as your center

No they wouldn't. They didn't get anywhere when they had Prime Nash and Dirk.

With Howard and Marion on the team they would be.

Way to contradict yourself.

Dirk > Amare so yeah, they would be pretty good.
