NBA TV is showing some of Reggies greatest games and one of them was vs the Bucks in the 1st round of 2000. Naturally the Reggie vs Ray debate came to mind, I had no idea they faced each other in the playoffs, and in the middle of Reggies run to the Finals no less. Well it was as good of a 1 on 1 battle as you'll see in the playoffs from 2 stars, they checked each other regularly and played similar roles for their teams, the question is who do you think played better?

In G.1 Reggie shot 5-18 for 19PTS compared to Rays 26 on 9-22, beyond those stats Ray was the driving force behind a 2nd half comeback whereas it was Jalen Rose who took over the game in the 4th, it was the beginning of "the changing of the guard" to some back then.

G.2 Reggie takes 1 more shot than Ray and scores half the pts, 4-12(10PTS) vs 7-11(20PTS). Bucks even the series 1-1

G.3 Reggie went nuts according to the game reviews "Miller, who was largely shut down by Ray Allen in the series' first two games in Indianapolis, scored 16 points in the third quarter as the Pacers turned a 12-point deficit into a three-point lead in less than six minutes.". He definitely outplayed Ray in this game.

G.4 Ray put the game away early with 18 in the first half, the game was never really serious, Reggie didnt have a better night.

G.5 This is the game that may separate the 2 in your mind Ray went 6-21 and Reggie dropped a career playoff best 41 and it very well should but please consider the performance in its entirety, who do you think outplayed the other?

Reggie (1 Brilliant game and 1 better game) or Ray (4 consistent games 1 poor)?

GameScore rating by Game

G1 G2 G3 G4 G5
Reggie 15.6 1.0 22.3 12.4 28.3
Ray Ray 17.6 18.3 16.8 17.3 10.2

Reggie came up big in that game 5. Still surprised they only won by 1 point. They were the 1st seed as well.

Also later in the day I saw that 2002 match between the Nets and Pacers which went to double OT and the Nets were the 1 seed and the Pacers were the 8th in the final game of that series.

Why not compare Reggie, Ray Ray and VC to AI in the 2001 playoffs, that would be a nice breakdown right there
