I say the Cavs.

Lebron is at the top of the SF list and Moon is decent.

I was going to say the Mavericks but Howard is going to be the starting SG so I didn't say them.

Who said that? If he is on the bench I say marion and Howard are #1. I think they need Terry to start to spread the floor.

Rockets maybe with Ariza and Battier (good combo of Off and Def)
Cant go wrong with Lebron and Moon
Right now the Pistons are listed with Tayshaun then Maxiell

The mavs could easily take that with Marion and Howard. How bout RJ and Ginobli. Rashard Lewis + Matt Barnes isn't bad. Hedo and Amir are decent if Amir has the quicks for the SF. But I suppose Lebron with a even a demented turkey as a back-up would still be at the front of the pack.

Maxiell is too bulky too compete against 90% of SF. but I like tayshaun. Houston is pretty good.

This is the one argument I can be a Philly homer in:

Iguodala and Thad Young are a pretty good combo.

But, the Cavs pretty much win by default. The gap is that big

They are better in every conceivable way as a combined duo.

The best PG duo is Chris Paul and Antonio Daniels

The best PF combo is Dirk and Gooden/Duncan and Bonner

Granger and Dunleavy-Some will say Dunleavy is more of a SG, but at like 6'7" and with his lack of speed, I'd say he's more susceptible to play SF.

Josh Smith and Marvin Williams-Again, some will say Smith is a PF, but I'd prefer to have him on my team at the 3.

Outlaw and Batum

TheKing23
08-19-2009, 08:43 AM
The thing is Marion will probably play a lot of minutes at the 4 with Dirk playing the 5 when they wanna run small and create mismatch problems, and Howard will probably play some minutes at the 2. Come the end of the season they will both average 32+ mpg, so for me I don't really consider them a starting SF and back-up SF. Similar reasons for Artest and Odom.

I'd take LeBron James and Jamario Moon over any combo by a mile, followed by Rashard Lewis and Matt Barnes.

To clarify things: the best starting and backup SF duo has to be from a team that gets most from those 48 minutes at SF position.

In that case Lebron and Moon duo SF is the best because nobody produces as much as Lebron. And Moon as a backup should do ok playing minutes that he has left.

Of course Odom and Artest, Marion and Howard should be mentioned, but nobody is better than Lebron and nobody is that good to produce those, let's say, 8 minutes so good to overcome them...

It's the best starting SF and backup SF, the majority of Odom's minutes will be spent at the 4, especially after the Artest signing. If there is a weak part to the Lakers it's their depth at the 4 and 5. Aside from the starters, Gasol and Bynum, they're relatively thin there, with only Josh Powell and DJ Mbenga off the bench. Odom is a great spark at the 4 and Gasol's versatility means he can slide to center if need be.

LeBron is the best starting SF in the league, and Moon is a very solid bench player who has spent the majority of his NBA career starting. Therefore, I would say they are the best starting SF and backup SF duo in the league.

i agree with u. i hate how all these people classify their players the way they want.. llike make marion a pf to with dirk in another thread and then make marion go with howard as a sf in another. use them as they are used by their teams.

odom may be a sf but he's used as a pf in la mostly.. so it pau and odom as pf/pf combo IMO. as much as id like to say artest and odom as sf/sf i just cant cuz it isnt really like that.

so guess im going with lebron n moon or lewis and pietrus or barnes (whoever the sf is)

Lebron/Moon, people act like Moon is just a name, but he is actually a decent contributor.
then
Howard/Marion, I don't see Marion as he was in Phoenix, therefor I don't think these 2 can make up the gap in quality of the above.

Everyone: If the question was who has the best backup SF, then teams like Dallas, Washington, LA would garner consideration.

It's the best duo though, and if you really think that any of those duos can produce anything close to what Lebron and Moon do, you're crazy.

Miller can play both the 2 and the 3 but Washington has Arenas, Foye, Stevenson, James, Young and Crittenton as guards so I have to think Miller will see a lot of time at the 3 behind Butler.
