"If I was gung ho about money I would sign back (with the Heat) right now," Wade said. "It's not really necessarily about that for me, it's putting myself in a position where I'm successful and can win. I've tasted the top, I've tasted that feeling of winning a championship. I think when you've tasted it you're a little more hungry than you are even when you haven't won a championship. That's what I'm trying to get back to.

"Going into next summer, if I become a free agent, my first mind is to sign with Miami, but of course we all know there's steps to take to get to that point."

So can everyone please stop screaming that they know for sure what hes going to do?!? The guy said it himself, if it was all about money he'd sign now. There is a chance he could end up anywhere, Cleveland?

Miami is so stupid not to offer everything but Wade or Beasley for Carlos Boozer. Are Haslem and/or a couple 1st rounders really not worth trying to send a message to Wade that he should stay? Miami is going to look awful stupid next summer if their team only consists of Beasley, Chalmers and Cook.

Wade has said this plenty of times.

He wants to contend for a title. He doesn't care about getting paid top dollar, but I am sure he wants a big contract.

If the Heat do not make moves to get players on their team, I don't think Wade will resign. Heat have done nothing this off-season.

I think he stays but if somehow the Heat end up not delivering like he wanted, he might leave.

Actually, he doesn't make the most re-upping now. He'd make the most re-signing at the start of F/A. He's coming back, it's very clear at this point.

D. Wade is the only one I can see actually leaving being as how all they have done to improve their roster is get Q-Rich while the other teams have improved. They will be lucky to end up with the 5th seed this year if they don't do any roster improvements.

I knew this all along, so nothing new here. But its almost impossible for pat riley not to give wade what he wants next year so its a lock to me. Chicago fans are gonna be really disappointed in 2010.

A new thread doesn't need to be made everytime these guys make a statement repeating what they said last week.

Need to make a 2010 FA thread and sticky it to the top of the forum

The CBA gets renegotiated after this season and everyone expects the max contract to decrease, and possibly the number of guaranteed years for a max player to go down as well. He definitely makes more extending to 6-years at the max right now, not to mention he insulates himself from injury, which he has been prone to in the past. If it were just about money to him I think it's pretty clear he would have inked a max extension.

Maybe I'm wrong and you know something I don't, why do you think he makes more by resigning at the start of free agency? Do you expect the renegotiation of the CBA to extend max players to 7-years again or something?
