View Full Version : Your thoughts on D Wade purchasing a house in Chicago after spurning Heat's extension

Dwyane Wade has sparked speculation that he could leave the Heat for the Bulls by buying a townhouse in Chicago.

If Wade doesn't sign an extension with Miami, he will become a free agent next summer.

Wade purchased a $1.4 million townhouse Kinzie Park recently, according to ChicagoMag.com's real estate blog.

The site I got this quote is credible but not allowed by PSD....once I get other sites news on it, I will edit.

Why is he doing this though?

Considering it's his hometown I'm not putting much stock in this...

I don't think this means he plans on signing with them necessarily though. Chicago is a kickass city. Don't blame him for getting a house there...regardless of why.

Another thing to consider is that Wade makes 20+ million a year including endorsements.

Do you really think he'd have a 1.4 million dollar house as his main place? I know a 1.4 million dollar house would be crazy to live in, but to him that's gotta be 1/100th his net worth...

I don't think it means anything because we only know that. He is playing for the Heat this upcoming season. Heat will most likely make a big move this season or upcoming off-season, to get better players around Wade or to trade Wade (which would be dumb! But if Wade is going to leave, they are going to trade him.)

Not EVERYONE is that much of a homer. It is possible to be an NBA fan AND be logical (hell, even a Bulls fan... But I don't know about Lakers fans). Not signing an extension with the Heat, and now buying a home in Chitown is all good news for the Bulls. The only thing keeping Wade in Miami is to win a championship, and with his current squad, it looks to be almost impossible. If I were the Bulls GM, I'd start shedding salaries.

I've been saying that he'll be a Bull for some time now, but I don't think this means much of anything. If it weren't for his contract situation, this wouldn't have even made the news.

Him buying a house in Chicago means zilch. It's posturing. He's just trying to put a little pressure on the Heat. Posturing that, oh, I'll leave if you don't upgrade. Which he might, and maybe to the Bulls, since he is from the area. But him buying the house, it means nothing as to where he signs, it's just a move by Wade to say to the Heat, that they need to get something done to improve the team.

Heat's Wade not moving to New York or New JerseyMiami Heat guard Dwyane Wade(notes) isn't a free agent till next summer but everybody's been salivating over how to get him onto their roster. (And if not him, how ‘bout LeBron James(notes), Amare Stoudemire, or Chris Bosh(notes)?) Teams have been clearing salary space in hopes of giving one of these guys the farm next summer.

It's looking like the Knicks and Nets shouldn't save their pennies for Wade. He's apparently saying tat he can't imagine himself playing for either one of those teams, according to the New York Post. "I'm not thinking about the Knicks or the Nets. Only when we play them," he said.

In fact, according to the New York Times, Wade wants to remain in Miami: "I want to be in Miami, and I hope everything works out that way," Wade told the paper. "I want to be one of those players that stays with one franchise for his entire career."

Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh will be part of a top-notch free agent class next summer. Wade, in New Jersey filming a movie, said he hopes to re-sign with the Miami Heat.
"I want to be in Miami, and I hope everything works out that way," Wade told The New York Times Thursday. "I want to be one of those players that stays with one franchise for his entire career. ... Next year will be a big year for myself and for the team, but the plan has always been to stay with the Heat, and that's still the plan," he said. "I think everything will work out."

After saying firmly "The Heat" as the frontrunner, he was asked point blank by the New York Post if the Nets or Knicks had a chance of signing him next summer.

"Not in my mind. I'm not thinking about the Knicks or the Nets. Only when we play them," Wade told the newspaper.

I'm not going to argue that Miami isn't an amazing place to live because it is, but don't take Chicago lightly. It was voted the number one place for young people to live in the WORLD. There is more to do here than there is in Miami and that is not arguable. However you have the amazing weather and the women for sure. The weather sucks up here for the most part.
