Good signing in my opinion, I kinda wanted the Blazers to try to get him but I don't think we would have had the cap space to do it.

All they had was the MLE right? or did they have the BAE too? They've signed Anthony Parker, Jamario Moon, and now Leon Powe right?

Powe is a Cal man, so I wish him the best. But he's been injured often on that knee and reminds me of Bynum at this point. I don't see him making an impact until next year, when the knee is truly heeled.

If it works out, a great move by the Cavs.

glad he got a contract somewhere

hope he can stay healthy enough to make the Celtics sorry for letting him walk

SG- Delonte West - Anthony Parker
SF- Lebron James - Jamario Moon
PF- Anderson Varejao - Leon Powe

Sad to see him go. Should be interesting to see how he comes back from his knee injury. Isn't this the second time he has done this?

If he comes back healthy, its a great pick up, but based on his history and stuff, I am not sure that he can come back for any long period of time.

Is it just me or did the Cavs try to sign every single free agent available lol What is even funnier is that most of them said no...But all in all good signing here by the cavs as long as he can get healthy.

They've used their MLE to get Moon and Parker and now used the BAE to get Powe, good signings for Cleveland only if Powe can bounce back otherwise they failed to get what they need most another good PF to back up Varejao. Good moves Cleveland, Orlando and Boston, can't wait for the season to start!

Risky but the payoff would be good if he remains healthy.

Risky move? First of all we signed Powe for the veteran minimum for a player with his tenure. Secondly we have plenty of roster depth. If he is able to come back and contribute in Feb it will be like a sly mid-season trade similiar to Orlando landing Alston this past season. If anything this is a very low risk high reward type move for the Cavs.

low risk high reward situation. He wont be back till like the all star break from his knee injury. This is is 3rd surgery i beleive, on both knees. IF he comes back healthy, obviously its a great pick up.

Woah he signed for the vet's min? I thought you guys gave him your BAE, now that's a great move Ferry, now all you have to do is sign a real coach so Lebron can take a load off.

well duhhhh. They had to improve.

raph, we have the best defensive coach in the NBA, we can just hire an offense guy.

good for the cavs, only if powe can get back to form than its an obvious steal. now they have two really good backup pf, varejao and powe. 8 million for a back up. still cant get over it

Idk I'd say that title would go to Greg Poppavich, but I do agree with you a coach for offense would be great, can't tell you how many times I've seen Lebron dribble down a shot clock and pull up for a jump shot in the playoffs (when it really matters). I'm a Magic fan, but ultimately I'm a fan of the sport and watching so much talent be wasted is annoying.

Meh nothing too special, but if he ever returns to form he makes Cleveland deeper and for a very cheap price (vets min)

Cleveland got him for the Vet Min so they still have their BAE left. They will likely use that on either Joe Smith or wait for the deadline when some vets are bound to be waived.

I think Cleveland has done the most this off-season of all the contenders. They added some really nice pieces to their bench and they brought in a very good Center in Shaq.

very nice late addition...Powe will be healthy by the middle of the season when it counts

C - Shaq
PF - Varejo
SF - God in Nikes
SG - Parker
PG - Williams

C - Big Z
PF - Powe/Hickson/Jackson/Williams
SF - Moon
SG - West/Green
PG - Gibson

I keep trying to tell people this team won 67 games last year....they will be better

Yeah I really didnt want to see him go. Hes a great guy and when he gets going he can be unstoppable. The thing that comes into my mind is that dunk against the lakers in game 6 that was on the CSN commercial

This is a great pick up for the Cavs, esp if he's healthy. Powe will find his way into the starting lineup.

Great move by the Cavs. I guess the Celtics just couldn't re-sign him after re-signing Big Baby and getting Shelden Williams.
