The poll for the best record/1st seed is over in the West conference. Click the team name for poll results. The winner of the previous polls will not be included in new polls. The order of the teams in each poll will be according to the previous poll results. After the 8th best record is determined, the seedings will be adjusted accoring to league rules.

Ima pick dallas because they have a loaded starting 5 and the best 6 man in the league in jason terry. The use to dominate the west, why can't they do it this year? They basically have the same team if not better.

I picked the spurs..they've been waiting for an extra scoring punch and received it in Jefferson.

Picking between this team and Dallas is obviously difficult though. Still, went with the previous champs.

I'm torn between San Antonio, Dallas, Denver and Portland.

I'm gonna go with Denver, they were great after they got Chauncey last year, there's no reason to believe they won't stay great.

The Spurs and Mavs, as great as they are, have some age. I wouldn't be suprised to see them in a lower gear through parts of the season, for the sake of being fresh in the play-offs.

I'll go Spurs. It was a bit tough though. If Dallas or Denver is 2nd I wouldn't be surprised.

the Nuggets, Chauncey would straight own any of the other PG's and the PG and SG would get shutdown since we have Afflalo doing even more then what Dahntay was doing.

Mavericks. This team is not done making moves. And we are already loaded. Denver will be the 3rd seed but not by much. San Antonio is another year older and their key addition Jefferson doesn't play defense. Manu and Duncan will find a way to get injured at some point in the season to cost the Spurs a couple wins which could seperate from being the 2 seed and being the 5 seed.

If San Antonio stays healthy, they are as good as ANY team in the league. I think it's the Lakers and Spurs...and everyone else (even though some of those other teams are very, very good).

I think it's Los Angeles, San Antonio, Dallas and Denver (who I don't think are given enough credit for their '08-'09 season). I think Denver will beat out the Spurs and Mavs (maybe even the Lakers) in the standings due to age.

The Lakers, Spurs and Mavericks all have some aging players who should get some extra rest during the season, for the sake of being fresh in the play-offs. This could cost them a few extra losses during the season.

Meanwhile, Denver will have training camp and a full season of Chauncey Billups' leadership, the still young 'Melo, Nene, and JR Smith will continue to improve, and new addition Aaron Afflalo (who is also young) is an upgrade over Dahntay Jones.

The Nuggets (somewhat secretly) have a really strong team ready for next season.

The Spurs should control the #2 spot barring any injuries. With that said if they are able to stay injury free they will give the Lakers a push for that #1 spot but the re-signing of Odom puts the Lakers over the edge

I thin San Antonio will be the #2 seed, but if they play head to head i think the mavs can beat them

POR...they tied for the 2nd best record with Blake as their starting PG and Oden with an injury-filled rookie year. They also have a very young nucleus that'll get better and better with time. I think they have a shot at 60 this year for sure.

I dunno.

So when other people see it, it will have some whack ranking like maybe

1. Lakers
2. Spurs
3. Kings
4. Grizzlies

Just to have fun.

Fair enough. If Sacramento and Memphis somehow do finish third and fourth, we'll all look like geniuses. If not, we can just say we were bored.

I'll go with San Antonio. They added Richard Jefferson and are actually healthy heading into the year. I think they should challenge LA for the Western conference title, along with Denver and Portland.

Had we not lost Kleiza to Olympiakos and Jones to Indiana, I would have put my money on Denver, but our bench right now is very thin. I'll have to go with San Antonio in this spot.

Your bench should be fine. You've got a nice three man rotation in the front court with Nene, Martin and Andersen, a rotation of 'Melo, Afflalo and Smith on the wing and the rookie Lawson spelling Billups.

Lawson might be a question mark (I don't know anything about rookies/college players), but that's still not a bad bench.

Their bench is basically Afflalo, Lawson, and Anderson

that's a horrible bench

Not really. First of all, JR Smith will be their back-up SG, with Afflalo starting. Denver fans correct me if I'm wrong on this, but as far as I'm aware they're sticking with Smith on the bench.

Also, it's not like they just take their starters off the floor and put on five back-ups. There's a rotation, and you can be succesful with an eight man rotation. You can do much, much worse than having Lawson, Smith and Andersen rotating with the starters, especially considering how much Smith and Andersen fire up the Pepsi Center.

I chose the Spurs, but wouldn't be suprise if Dever or Dallas got this spot.
