View Full Version : How well would an "All-Shooting" team do?

sp1derm00

PG: Nash
SG: Ray Allen
SF: Peja
PF: Dirk
C: Bargnani

Team seems pretty feasable to put together, given the Suns and Mavs were willing to give up Nash and Dirk.

Would this team be able to contend without a low post presence?

Peja doesn't play anywhere near where he used to in terms of deadliness- thats only because of his age - I would say the same about RayRay but his 50 pt game in the playoffs silenced me lol.

As for that team as a whole- I think that it would be really hard to tell because some nights if they are all on then they could score somewhere in the range of 150 pts and others if they aren't hot around 60 so it really is hard to tell bc you don't know how they'll shoot.

Awful on defense. Having Bargs at Center might be a bit redundant. Maybe someone like Sheed, who can shoot and is a much better defender.....and then replace Peja with a SF that can shoot and also play D.

Steve Nash
Ray Allen
Shane Battier
Dirk Nowitzki
Rasheed Wallace

^^I'd rather take that "All-Shooting Team" onto NBALive/NBA2K.

one problem, theres only one ball...

a lot of those players would demand the ball in certain senarios, thus being unhappy when they dont get their way

I don't think it's very feasible, look at the Raptors a few years back. The team you said has much better starters..but my all shooting raps team a couple years back was never going to truly contend.

We had something like:

Calderon/Ford
Anthony Parker
Mo Pete
Bosh
Rasho/Bargnani

Well you can make a All Shooting Team that is more of a true contender than this.

PG: Chauncey Billups
SG: Joe Johnson
SF: Rashard Lewis
PF: Dirk Nowitzki
C: Rasheed Wallace

Bench

PG: Aaron Brooks
SG: Jason Terry
SF: Shane Battier
PF: Troy Murphy
C: Mehmet Okur

How about 2009 raptors roster for all-shooting team! LOL.

Calderon
Belinelli
Turkoglu
Bosh
Bargnani

All who shoot above .400 from behind the arc(except Bosh, but mixes in with solid midrange jumper).

EDIT: Belinelli shoots .397 from behind the arc.

It's because he's good. And you don't likely watch enough basketball, so you need to post a comment like that.

Okur has better 3pt% than Bargnani and Nash is not a shooter.

how can you say nash is not a shooter?, his the best shooting PG in the league

BkOriginalOne

Good transtion D, poor rebounders.
Low number of free throw attempts, which means teams can afford to foul in late game situations.
Teams will use ball pressure to force everone to put the ball on the floor. They will lose to any athletic team.

Whats with all the bargnani ****?

34.6 MPG
.457 FG%
.421 3point
.831 FT%
5.9 rpg
1.3 bpg
17.7 ppg

That's his stats as a starter.
Andrea will be putting up something like 20, 8, with over 40% from the 3 and 85% from the freethrow line.

He might be an all star this season if the voting goes his way.

Nash vs Calderon.

Nash is more clutch and a better shooter from the floor and 3 point line.
Calderon is currently hot from freethrow, I doubt his perentage will be that high this year.

I dont see how people are not recognizing nash as a good shooter he can flat out score he just decides to get other involved in the game so he gives up a lot of good looks... but to answer the question poseted... it depends if they are in the west or the east... If they were n the west they would make the playoffs but wouldnt be in the top 3... in the east they may be able to get in the top 3

Me too. Either way, I can't see a team like that doing too much. The Magic had Dwight Howard in the middle, which played a huge part. They could run on you with him in the middle, and you couldn't score down low against them.

nash is a shooter???

Well he's a career 43% three point shooter, and shot as high as 47% (!) from three (in the '07-'08 season).

one problem, theres only one ball...

I don't see it as a problem. They're not all guys that demand the ball, they're spot up shooters.

Okur
Rashard
Granger
Ray Allen
Mo Williams

They'd be relatively bad in my opinion. Maybe a second round team at best.
