Every team has a bench spark and I want to hear everyone's underrated bench spark for their team. You can split it for defense and offense if you want.
I'm a Warriors fan so my sparks are
Defense: Turiaf 2.13 blocks in 21 min and he gives off crazy energy
Offense: Azubuike 14.4 pts and 2nd in league for 3pt%

Detroit Pistons

Offense: Will Bynum, once scored 25pts in the 4th quarter off the bench

Defense: Jason Maxiell (Just makes great defensive stops)

Miami heat

Defence: tie. Joel Anthony- one of the best screensettters in the game, good defense, hustles.

offense: daequan cook. inconsistent but when he has it he looks like a ben gordon. great 3pt shooter, again when he has it going.

Magic:

Mikael Pietrus- the playoffs speak for themselves, both offense and defense. Great 6th man.

Nate Robinson can turn into a chucker at times, but can put up 20+ points on any given night.

He averaged 17 ppg and averaged 27 ppg the week after All-Star break.

Yeah. That's probably the best offensive/defensive bench combo there is.

Offense-Eddie House. He can come in and just be lights out from the three. He had a string going of games with over 25 pts. Bill Walker is second with his explosive energy.
Defense-TA. He comes in in the crucial moments when we need a stop, great at stripping the ball.

I wanted to just hear people's thoughts about their own teams, didn't care to hear about the best bench sparks. The fans know their own teams the best and know their best underrated bench players usually more than fans of other teams. So far on the postings almost everyone has put up a person I can agree with as an underrated bench player.

I used to watch Pietrus a lot when he was with the Warriors and I agree athletic swing man can get blocks, steals and good at shooting threes in the corners. I'm surprised magic fans aren't putting Gortat too.

Offense: Luke Walton
- He comes in and handles the ball, runs the offense how it should be, allows Kobe to play off the ball (lobs), and he sees the mismatches for his teammates and even for himself and takes advantage of it like taking Lee and Finlet into the post these past 2 years

Defense: Lamar Odom
- He is by far our best team defender and communicator when it comes to defending pick and rolls, he covers distances quickly and was the reason that Pau and Drew could play Howard effectively, and as our best rebounder he allows the team to get out on the break with ease

Its funny, as soon as I read Maxiell's name, I thought of that exact play. And as soon as I read the thread title, I thought of Ronny Turiaf as well. I wish he was still with us :(

I said this to another poster, but it applies to you as well since you are sipping on the same haterade

This dude can't play defense, he has no jump shot, he can't create, he hurts the team when he enters the game. He has not improved his game since his rookie year, I just don't want to suffer seeing this dude another year as a backup.

First off Luke maybe slow, but his defense is far from bad:
- He was the best Pierce defender in the two games we played them
- He guarded Artest much better than Ariza; if you don't believe it look at the 1st game in which Luke missed and look at the next 6 he played in.
- He defended the Hell out of Carmelo in the close out game in Denver with Ariza in foul trouble, and if you go back and look at the numbers from the year before in the first round he scored efficiently while holding Melo to a subpar 4 games.
- He defended Milsap in the playoffs this year better than Bynum did by far, and he banged the Hell out of Harpring the year before that on the playoffs.

Secondly, you must not have watched the Lakers for very long slap nuts to say he hurts us by playing
- In 05-06 this team struggled and was average until Luke came back from his hamstring injury and before you knew it he was starting
- In 06-07 Luke was by far the third best player on this team and carried his own weight as the number two guy when Lamar got hurt. Lamar came back and in some kind of ****ed up luck Luke got hurt and the team was floundering. Just to make the playoffs, he came back on an ankle that he wasn't even cleared to play on, Lamar played with a torn labrum, and Kobe had to go into Superman mode.
- As for this year you are a Damn lie as we take a look at our most best 5 man lineups thanks to 82games.com:
The Graphic - http://i26.tinypic.com/30ldyee.jpg - Luke was in our top 2 winning lineups:speechless:

Thirdly him not creating is an ignorant myth as he is one of the top passers on this team:

Lastly, as for him not improving since being a rookie look at Per 36 Minutes numbers as a better indication to take that into account as his minutes have fluctuated in his career:

You suffer, and I'll just take what Luke helps us do which is "WIN" :)

I'm thinking Randy Foye is taking this title away from Nick Young this season.
Can't argue with McGee in the least.

Orlando Magic:

Offense: Mikhael Pietrus - Proving his efficiency off the bench in the playoffs, he consistantly had a few 15+pts games off the bench in each of the Magic's four playoff series

Defense: Mikhael Pietrus - If shutting down Igoudala and Pierce wasn't hard enough, he did an admirable job on Lebron and Kobe also, never letting down and playing them as well as you could

You guys are looking at the 2009-10 NBA Sixth Man of the Year... that is unless Matt Barnes steals his thunder as he is a similar player, in which case we return to Ginobli getting the Sixth Man award again

Rockets -
Carl Landry. He is a beast on the boards, hits the paint very hard. plays MUCH bigger than he is, and he is extremely athletic..and tough..the dude got shot and ran away still. Thats G.
Kyle Lowry- i agree with this big time...he is such a vauable player, a one day starter in this league I can see. He is just a kid.

Dallas Mavs -

JJ BAREA - this little guy can do it all, he has so much heart, he can pass, he can score, he is quick...always giving a spark to the Mavs. He plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Hornets

James Posey PO-Z is one of the best bench players in the league hands down. What more can you say, the dude can score/shoot and play D. Im not sure how people rate him, but If they dont rate him, he is underrated. If they rate him high, then great for him.

normally id say najera but he was injured all year.
where is that energy guy? the best we have is keyon dooling. pg/sg who fills in nicely and can lead the team. vocal and a leader. hits those corner 3s like there's no tomorrow. he can really help the nets out in the next year by negotiating something better for his nets as the executive vice president of the nbapa.
