Josh Howard is a 6'5 small forward...I haven't seen that since Latrell Sprewell. Of course you have D-Wade who still stands at 6'4. Meanwhile you also have 6'7 Elton Brand playing power forward and 6'9 Al Jefferson (who is closer to 6'8 really) playing center.

Back in the day you had those kinds of players too. Charles Barkley is the obvious pick...playing power forward at 6'4. But Hakeem was 6'10 despite being listed as a 7-footer. And the ever underrated Dave Cowens stood at 6'8 playing center...while Willis Reed did the same at 6'9. Would Cowens, Hakeem and Reed be power forwards in todays NBA...?

Leon Powe.

He's a 6'7 PF with a huge wingspan and great upper body strength.

He's was a fan favorite in Boston because of his ability to make 'and 1' plays finishing with a dunk or a lay up.

It's sad he got severely injured.

Aaron Brooks from Houston. He helped push the world champs (Lakers) to 7 games. The team in the playoffs to do that. Glen Davis was impressive.

Not to nitpick but wasn't Willis Reed a normal size center back then?

Elton Brand is 6'9 not 6'7 i have seen him. and he has been a BEAST his entire career, from day 1 in the NBA... I dont know why Philly cant make him work...hell, he has been just as consistent as any other "big" in the NBA...rivaling Tim Duncan for being consistent with his numbers...just not a successful obviously.

Brandon Bass plays bigger than he is.

The number one guy who plays bigger than he is (in my eyes) would be CHUCK HAYES from the Houston Rockets.

Just because people are undersized doesn't mean they play bigger than their size. Iverson is a poor choice because he doesn't play bigger than his size. Rondo however does, because he rebounds far better than a guy of his stature should.

Nah he's 6'7, I actually asked him in person.

I'd say Nate.

He's 5'9

also JJ Barea is only 5'10 and had some good numbers playing back up PG behind J.Kidd last season.

Allen Iverson.....a guy that small isn't supposed to score the way he does. Usually the smaller you are, the more you hang around the perimeter. AI takes it inside against absoulte giants in the paint and that's why he plays bigger than his size.

Thaddeus Young.....has been playing PF for the Sixers the last 2 years despite giving up about 2 inches and 20-30 pounds to his opponent. Hopefully he can play at his natural SF position this season.

When Elton Brand is healthy, this thread is all him. He's 6'8, 250ish but he's more athletic than he looks and he has a 7'2 or 7'3 wingspan. So he's a very good defender and rebounder if he can stay on the floor.

He is listed as 6'7 but he is 6'5 in reality.

He measured at 6'5.5 without shoes and 6'6.5 with shoes, but he has a freakish 7'2 wingspan.

Paul Milsap, guys only 6'7 with shoes bullies everyone around in the paint. Ben Wallace is a good choice guys only like 6'8 playing center. Iverson and Monta Ellis in some sense, they play a 2 all the time, but since they can't really play defense against SG that well I suppose you can't really say they play bigger than they are except on offense. Oh yeah Chuck Hayes is like 6'6 and he plays PF for the rockets.

Chuck Hayes to me in eyes he is an elite post defender and good on the boards only 6-6 or 6-7 and played center in the playoff

A.I. (best little man to play the game)
Chuck Hayes (plays a lot taller than he is)

He is listed as 6'7 but he is 6'5 in reality.

No... He is not. Are you confusing height w/o shoes for a players listed height in the NBA? Every player's listed height on a team page includes 1"-1.5" over their natural height to include their shoes. If someone is listed at 6'8", without shoes he is 6'6.5"-6'7".

Every player before being draft goes through the pre-draft measurements where the players are measured in shoes and without shoes. Without shoes, Josh Howard was 6'5.5". In shoes he is 6'6.5" which on any bio would be rounded up to 6'7". He is 6'7"... not 6'5".
