4/5 have been all stars

They look great on paper, but the defense is horrible.

I think the Magic.

C-Dwight Howard
PF-Brandon Bass
SF-Rashard Lewis
SG-Vince Carter
PG-Jameer Nelson

Then Celtics.

C-Rasheed Wallace
PF-Kevin Garnett
SF-Paul Pierce
SG-Ray Allen
PG-Rajon Rondo

If Rasheed doesn't start though then the Lakers are 2nd.

The Lakers.

C-Pau Gasol
PF-Andrew Bynum/Lamar Odom (I'm not sure who will start)
SF-Ron Artest
SG-Kobe Bryant
PG-Derek Fisher

I like the Wizards too but I don't think they can compete against those other teams.

If Arenas can stay healthy and play like he was playing before he got hurt then they might be able to compete.

Miller got out of a bad situation in Minny with Kevin McHale and Arenas averaged a double double when he came back at the end of last season. He's been working with a trainer all summer and hasn't had any stiffness or swelling in his knee. Wade used the same trainer after his injury. Guess we can only wait and see.

Gil has a lot to prove he's an all-star still. Butler and Jamison weren't all-stars last year. Who's the 4th? Miller...haha.

Lakers: Fish/Kobe/Artest/Pau/Bynum
Spurs: Parker/Ginobili/RJ/Duncan/Dyess
Boston: Rondo/Allen/Pierce/KG/Perk
Orlando: Nelson/Carter/Barnes/Lewis/Howard

Those are the only 4 options IMO. I like the Spurs the best...by a tiny bit.

Every position is close but these are the the obvious calls

Orlando is good but there no better than Cleveland(LBJ should count as 2 positions), Denver, San Antonio.

I think Orlando has done a great job as far as adding depth with the right players. Their starting 5 is weaker than last yr though not by much but weaker none the less.

With Kobe/Gasol/Bynum/Artest/Fisher the Lakers have the most dynamic, best unit. They'll play great perimeter D, they'll be able to funnel the ball into two mobile 7 footers. They'll have a stellar offense with Kobe and Gasol being givens, Bynum under the hoop and two guys capable of shooting over 40% from three in Artest and Fisher.

And of course they'll have the championship swagger, clutch performers, and a fair bit of intensity. Until they get beaten, I'll have a hard time thinking anyone is close.

oops, i meant mcdyess. with the fresh news that gooden just signed with the Mavs, i got gooden mixed up with mcdyess. my baddd.. but yeah, spurs should have a nice starting 5 of parker, gino, RJ, mcdyess, and TD. that's of course, if Gino does start.

Washington on paper has a good starting 5. Key is for all of them to stay healthy! Agent Zero hasn't been healthy for a couple of years and they still have no real depth!

Haywood, Miller...allstars?? Jarett Jack avg. 16.1 points, and that doesn't mean he's an allstar, does it?

Orlando? Can't wait for them to choke this year...Their best player in the playoffs and go to guy was Hedo...he's gone....Lee big time asset...he's gone...Carter...???...he peaked in Toronto. Carter will disturb the chemistry and they will have to change their style.

Cleveland...any starting 5 with Lebron on it is a top starting 5!! Shaq I don't think makes the team that much better...although he will do a much better job on D12.

Toronto will be good...especially if Bosh steps it up...Contract year??
(p.s. like Lebron and Wade, he's staying where he is cause no other team can offer him more money...it's just business, Right!

Nuggets I like.

tkshy

You have to give it to the lakers cause they are the champs and they upgraded their starting SF.
PG-Fish
SG-Kobe
SF-Artest
PF-Gasol
C-Bynum
and probalbly the best 6th man in Odom.

That being said Celtics, Magic, even SanAntonio if healthy all look good on paper. I will give you one that you might not hear about though...the Raptors, yes the Raptors.

PG-Calderon (pass first almost an all-star)
SG-Wright (defensive player started for the Mavs last year looked good)
SF-Turk (All star)
PF-Bosh (all star working on superstar, but may never get there)
C-Bargs (just like calderon on the verge of all star status, can shoot, pass, if he learns how to play d, and rebound look out)
Plus a great 6th man in Jarrett Jack.

It's Friday, LO's coming back, and I'm feeling good. I'll nod and agree with what everyone wrote, except for the guy that listed only Shaq and LeBron. Come on now, wake up and smell the retooling of current NBA rosters. Shaq is no longer THE most dominant (and even against Timmy, it was never quite clear in some games), and LeBron can be held in check by either Kobe or Artest at any time, any where. I'm not saying that you're wrong in your views, just that you have to give us more valid reasons in support of your opinion.
