I felt he deserved it last year as well. he carried the worst team in the league to 5th seed in playoffs. and led the league in scoring.

Kobe's not winning it unless he puts up amazing stats or the Lakers have the best record in the league.

This may be the year Dwight wins it especially if Orlando gets a few extra wins this season.

usual suspects..Kobe, Lebron, Wade..If Howard can get 23 and 14 with 3 blks got to throw him in there too.

IDK who will get it, but Wade deserves it.

How do you he deserves it??? Before the season has even started...

1. LeBron (a lot of doubters again about Cleveland, but they'll finish with a great record, and he'll be as motivated as ever)
2. Wade (don't see him winning unless the Heat finish in the top 3)
3. Kobe (he's on the best team, but anything less than an absolutely amazing year for the Lakers is a dissapointment, too many expectations)

I really think those are the only three. If Boston finishes with the best record, I could see KG getting some votes. Same thing with Orlando, but I don't see Howard carrying the offense as much as an MVP should. Duncan is a "darkhorse?". They'll be a lot better this year. Paul isn't on a good enough team...same with Deron. If the Mavs finish in the top 2 then Dirk will have a great shot.

Y did WADE deserve it last year? LeBron deserved it last year man, dont be foolish. Wade's team record in the east wanst even remotely close to the amount of wions LeBron gave his team.....

two years ago Chris Paul vs Kobe, Paul had waaaaaaaaaay better stats and was playing with much much less talent than Kobe and the Lakers, but Kobe's team had ONE more win than the Hornets to take the #1 seed, while Hornets grabbed the #2 seed....Paul deserved it that year but the voters base so much off of number of wins abd the best records etc...

Dirk (espicially if they are top team in west)
CP3

LeBron, Wade, Kobe

Melo, Duncan, Howard

Paul, Roy, Durant

The players in each tier are in no particular order; the tiers themselves are in order.

All on top six teams except Durant, Wade, and probably Paul. Durant could end up competing for a scoring title and Wade and Paul always put up gaudy numbers.

This year it's definitely going to go to Wade baring injury. The league likes the see new faces holding the MVP trophy. Just like coach of the year. On that note, I actually think Kevin Durant has an outside shot at it if he's going to have the season I think he's going to have and the Thunder can play .500 ball.

And yet better than the players I listed. So I guess Vince Carter is out of the running because of Dwight Howard even if VC puts up 40 pts & 10 apg?

Durant needs to learn the meaning of defense before he could even be considered. The same things were said about Melo when he was a top 3 scorer in the league.

Kobe Bryant - He is the best player in the world on the best team in the world. If the Lakers have the best record and he puts up 28.5-6-5 then I think he gets the MVP.

Wade - He should have won it last year, but I think he will have a better season and so will his team.

LeBron - He is going to put up his 29-7-7, but I think the Cavs will have a bad record against the top tier teams, although a great overall record.

Right now Lebron has the best shot to do it again. Remember that a teams wins constitutes a lot of value to determining an MVP, that's why Wade won't win it.Wade will always put up the stats to get him in the discussion, now only if he had a team to back up those stats. Kobe will provide tough competition but I think he believes winning another title is more important than another MVP, so he will probably save himself for the playoffs. Dwight is another player that I think can challenge Lebron. He has the stats plus a contender team.

wade deserves it because he is the most valuable player....you take lebron off of cleveland or kobe off of LA and those teams will still win more than 15 games...you take wade off of Miami and they were the worst team in the league..not to mention that he puts up monstrous stats, both offensively and defensively

The Cavaliers are not as good as you think without LeBron . . .

But to the point, that's not the way they hand out the MVP. If it were, Kobe and LeBron would each have two or more MVPs.

And LeBron still pulled his team from your "15 wins" to 66 wins. That's a 41-win difference. For Wade to have pulled that feat, a Wade-less Miami would have had to win TWO games.

AND, LeBron's stats were better almost across the board when minutes per game are even.

I'm sorry, Wade had a great year. He was not MVP though.

I know people saying Wade "deserves" it is total BULL and nothing but propaganda. LeBron deserved it last year, and he won it, so no complaints there. Or atleast there shouldnt be. LeBron made his team better and had better stats. Hell, Id sit here and argue til my death that Chris Paul had JUST AS GOOD OF STATS AS WADE IF NOT BETTER STATS.....AND PAUL LED HIS TEAM TO MORE WINS AS WELL.

and on a side note....to the several people thinking Kobe will win the scoring title: ysome ppls ignorance of basketball is unbelievable. The Lakers have a better team, Kobe wont have to be scoring more than 25 per game for them to make it to the finals LOL. They have too many weapons already...kobe is gunna save up for the playoffs then go off as usual. he shouldnt win another MVP though since the media STOLE that one from Chris Paul, when only ONE win separated the two....and Paul had better stats.

Kobe can't have it. His supporting cast is so big that there's no need for him to shine.
CP3 and Dwight might be in conversation if they manage to surprise. Wade only if he has a monstrous season, because with current roster it will be very difficult for the HEAT to get further than 1st round. And LBJ..well he has a good chance of repeating it.

And honestly, D-Wade is a longshot. It usually goes to the best player on the best team. Or the best player in the top 5 teams.

Kobe--I think the Lakers will have the best record and Kobe will have a very similar year to last season. I also think LeBron's stats (and the Cavs regular season wins) will dip a bit with Shaq manning the middle (though I do think having Shaq will help them in the playoffs if LeBron and Shaq play off each other well). I don't think Wade will finish any higher than a 4th or 5th seed in the East, so I don't see him winning the MVP. I actually think DHoward has the second best chance at snagging an MVP as long as his team improves from last year and his stats take a small hike.

Yall forget that with a healthy Hornets squad, they were 2nd in the West. With Emeka a huge upgrade over Chandler expect to see CP3 & Hornets give teams the business again. :)

Im going with Paul or Wade as my top candidates cause they havent won it yet.

However, Lebron can easily repeat especially now with the Diesel on his team. Kobe not so much because now he has to share even more with Artest and I have a feeling Odom will be a mittle more demanding this season. Dwight Howard will be up there too, but alot of Magic success will be because of Vince Carter. Carmelo might finally become a leader next season, he shown great flashes in the playoffs.

But I can say the same for Kobe with Ron Artest. Cause he will want the ball way more than Trevor Ariza. At least Shaq remains in the middle. Artest can be getting the ball from anywhere. And I just have a feeling that Odom will want "HIS" a little more this year.
